Abstract: A method for improving joint strength between a first and second member comprising the steps of: applying a sealant material including a matrix material at least partially encasing rigid components to the first and second members; joining the first and second members upon an application of force that is applied through the use of one or more fasteners; wherein a compressive force is applied to the exterior surface of both the first and second members by the one or more fasteners while the rigid components apply an internal tension force acting opposite of the compression force to the interior surface of both the first and second members proximate to the fastener to form a mechanical lock thereby reducing slippage and generally maintaining the joint in position.

Abstract: A liquid crystal polyester resin composition for camera modules is used, the composition including, based on 100 parts by mass of the composition as a whole, (A) 49.5 to 69.5 parts by mass of a liquid crystal polyester, (B) 30.0 to 50.0 parts by mass of an irregular form or spherical powder having a Mohs hardness of 5 or higher and a primary particle diameter of 5 μm or less, and (C) 0.5 to 5.0 parts by mass of carbon black. The use of the resin composition allows a reduction in the amount of dust generated (particles falling off) during the production of the camera, the use of the camera, and the operation of the camera modules. The resin composition has high surface hardness, is excellent in balance between heat resistance, stiffness, moldability, and resistance to falling of particles off a surface, and causes no malfunction during autofocus control.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing a low-viscosity hardener is provided. The method includes the followings steps: providing a hardener crude product; and subjecting the hardener crude product and an alkaline catalyst to an isomerization reaction, so as to obtain the low-viscosity hardener. The hardener crude product contains 3-methyltetrahydrophthalic anhydride and 4-methyltetrahydrophthalic anhydride, and a weight ratio of the 3-methyltetrahydrophthalic anhydride to the 4-methyltetrahydrophthalic anhydride ranges from 7:3 to 3:7. A viscosity of the low-viscosity hardener ranges from 30 cps to 50 cps.

Abstract: The present invention is related to a method for producing a resin composition including feeding a resin (A), a fibrous filler (B), and a particulate filler (C) which is harder than the fibrous filler (B) to an extruder, and melt-kneading to extrude a kneaded material, the resin composition comprising a fibrous filler (B) which is 140 μm or less in weight average fiber length. According to the present invention, a production method with high versatility is provided in which a resin composition containing the fibrous filler having the weight average fiber length of 140 μm or less is effectively produced.
