Abstract:
Systems and methods for compensating for pressure increase which may occur in various enclosed spaces of a pumping apparatus are disclosed. Embodiments of the present invention may compensate for pressure increases in chambers of a pumping apparatus by moving a pumping means of the pumping apparatus to adjust the volume of the chamber to compensate for a pressure increase in the chamber. More specifically, in one embodiment, to account for unwanted pressure increases to the fluid in a dispense chamber the dispense motor may be reversed to back out piston to compensate for any pressure increase in the dispense chamber.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention provide pumps with features to reduce form factor and increase reliability and serviceability. Additionally, embodiments of the present invention provide features for gentle fluid handling characteristics. Embodiments of the present invention can include a pump having a motor driven feed stage pump and a motor driven dispense stage pump. The feed stage motor and the feed stage motor can include various types of motors and the pumps can be rolling diaphragm or other pumps. According to one embodiment, a dispense block defining the pump chambers and various flow passages can be formed out of a single piece of material.
Abstract:
A pump controller and pump controlling method for dispensing a precise amount of low viscosity fluid are provided in which the problems of double dispenses and stuttered dispenses are avoided. In particular, the timing of the valves and motors in the pumping apparatus are adjusted to avoid these problems.
Abstract:
A reciprocating compressor-expander according to the present invention comprises a cylinder, a piston, a crankshaft connected to the piston, a first valve for a low pressure compressible fluid, a second valve for a high pressure compressible fluid, and a valve drive mechanism for driving the first valve and the second respectively such that, during a compression process, the low-pressure compressible fluid is sucked into the cylinder from the first valve in synchronization with the rotation of the crankshaft and the high-pressure compressible fluid compressed in the cylinder is discharged from the second valve, and that, during an expansion process, the high-pressure compressive fluid is introduced from the second valve into the cylinder, and the low-pressure compressible fluid expanded in the cylinder is discharged from the first valve.
Abstract:
A monitoring system may include at least a strain gauge and a computing device for determining a bulk modulus of a fluid system of a pressure pump using strain measurements. The strain gauge may determine strain in a chamber of the pressure pump. The computing device may receive a strain signal generated by the strain gauge and may correlate the strain signal to pressure to determine a change in pressure during a period in which fluid is isolated in the chamber. The computing device may use the change in pressure during this period to determine a bulk modulus of the fluid system.
Abstract:
Equipment for continuous regulation of the flow rate of fluid in a reciprocating compressor which has a compression chamber with a piston reciprocally movable therein. The compression chamber has an inlet valve and an outlet valve which delivers fluid to a reservoir. A translation device is movable to open the valve and allow closing of the valve. An actuator engages the translation device and includes a rod. The rod has a magnitizable central element located between solenoids of an electromechanical device. The central element is located in a prefixed position with respect to the solenoids under the resilient loading of a resilient device. Detectors are provided for detecting the position of the piston, the pressure in the reservoir and the position of the actuator.
