Abstract:
An electronic device for controlling a remote electronic device is described. The electronic device includes a processor and instructions stored in memory that is in electronic communication with the processor. The electronic device enters a control state that is not a power off state and is not a power on state. The electronic device also generates a control message for a remote electronic device while in the control state. The electronic device further transmits the control message for controlling the remote electronic device while in the control state.
Abstract:
A site controller adapted to be used in an automated monitoring system for monitoring and controlling a plurality of remote devices via a host computer connected to a first communication network is provided. The site controller is configured for controlling communication with the host computer and a plurality of communication devices that define a second communication network associated with the plurality of remote devices. Briefly described, in one embodiment, the site controller comprises a transceiver configured to communicate with the plurality of communication devices via the second communication network; a network interface device configured to communicate with the host computer via the first communication network; and logic configured to: manage communication with each of the plurality of communication devices, via a first communication protocol, based on one or more communication paths for each of the plurality of communication devices, each communication path comprising one or more communication devices involved in the communication link between the transceiver and each of the plurality of communication devices; and manage communication with the host computer via a second communication protocol. Other aspects, features, and embodiments are also claimed and described.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a trap including a status LED configured to indicate a trap status, a door sensor configured to indicate a door status, and a status button, configured to: 1) wake a micro controller such that the telemetry-enabled trap can be registered with a telemetry system, and 2) cause the status LED to indicate at least the trap status and the door status. Also disclosed is a method for monitoring the trap. The method includes receiving GPS data, monitoring the GPS data for valid positional information, and receiving an event message from a trap tracker module.
Abstract:
The present invention advantageously provides a motorized roller shade that includes a shade tube, a motor/controller unit and a power supply unit. The motor/controller unit is disposed within the shade tube, and includes a bearing, rotatably coupled to a support shaft, and a DC gear motor. The output shaft of the DC gear motor is coupled to the support shaft such that the output shaft and the support shaft do not rotate when the support shaft is attached to the mounting bracket.
Abstract:
An exemplary embodiment of the present invention provides a site controller for use in a communication system. The site controller can be configured to receive original data messages and repeated data messages, identify remote devices in associated with sensor data signals of received data messages and repeated data messages, and provide information related to the sensor data signals to a wide area network for access by a first host computer.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention are generally directed to a system for monitoring a variety of environmental and/or other conditions within a defined remotely located region. Such a system may be configured to monitor utility meters in a defined area. The system is implemented by using a plurality of wireless transmitters, wherein each wireless transmitter is integrated into a sensor adapted to monitor a particular data input. The system also includes a plurality of transceivers that are dispersed throughout the region at defined locations. The system uses a local gateway to translate and transfer information from the transmitters to a dedicated computer on a network. The dedicated computer, collects, compiles, and stores the data for retrieval upon client demand across the network. Other aspects, features, and embodiments are also claimed and described.
Abstract:
A hand-held device having a touch sensitive surface uses a relative distance from an origin location to each of a plurality of touch zones of the touch sensitive surface activated by a user to select a one of the plurality of touch zones as being intended for activation by the user.
Abstract:
A system for wireless process control comprises at least a first wireless network, which is used to communicate real-time instructions and data between one or more pieces of mobile equipment to at least one other piece of mobile equipment. In one variant, a second wireless network is provided, using a different radio frequency band, to concurrently communicate the same or substantially the same real-time instructions and data as are communicated over the first wireless network.
Abstract:
An electronic circuit is proposed for a wireless telephone terminal, configured to allow the use of devices present in another remote terminal with which it can communicate.
Abstract:
A retrofit system includes a body, a cup and a valve. The body has a top wall and a plurality of side walls defining a opening and a chamber and is configured to be connected to a gas meter such that the chamber is in fluid communication with a chamber of the gas meter. An inlet channel is configured to be in fluid communication with an inlet of a diaphragm disposed within the gas meter and an outlet channel configured to be in fluid communication with an outlet of the diaphragm. The cup is disposed within an aperture located in the top wall and defines compartment configured to receive a radio frequency (RF) controller and a power supply. The valve is connected to one of the inlet or outlet channels and is electrically coupled to the RF controller and the power supply. The valve is configured to close in response to receiving an electrical signal from the RF controller.
