Abstract:
An image data communication apparatus is connected to an image data source and to a network, and transmits image data attached to an e-mail to a receiving apparatus via the network. The e-mail including a mail from command and a mail message. The image data is attached to the e-mail as an openable document. The image data communication apparatus comprises a memory which stores information regarding an identification of at least one user of the image data communication apparatus and a mail address of the at least one user, and a panel section which selects the information regarding an identification of at least one user and the mail address of the at least one user stored in the memory. The image data communication apparatus comprises a controller which sets information regarding the identification of the user and the mail address of the user selected by the panel section, into the mail message of the e-mail to which the image data is attached.
Abstract:
A network facsimile system has a communication terminal and relaying server. The network facsimile system is configured such that the communication terminal can transmit an image, through the relaying server, to a destination terminal outside the network facsimile system, that the communication terminal transmits an image to the relaying server in accordance with a predetermined communication protocol. The relaying server transmits an image to the destination terminal in accordance with a facsimile communication protocol. The communication terminal includes a notification system that notifies a user of the communication terminal of an operation status information indicating an operation status of the network facsimile system during a relaying server side operation period.
Abstract:
An electronic mail-facsimile communication system, an electronic mail-facsimile communication method, and a recording medium on which a program code is recorded for performing a method that allow a facsimile transmission image to be previewed is presented herein. It includes a system for faxing electronic mail over a network includes a client connected to the network and a gateway unit for transmitting a facsimile transmission image to a facsimile machine over a telephone line. The gateway unit converts an e-mail sent from the client into a facsimile transmission image, and creates electronic mail containing the facsimile transmission image to return the electronic mail to the client before sending the electronic mail to the facsimile machine.
Abstract:
A facsimile apparatus transmits facsimile data converted from e-mail data to a facsimile destination via a public communication network. A receiver receives the e-mail data from a requesting node. A memory stores a password and a domain name of a requesting node. An acquiring section acquires a destination address including at least a telephone number, a password and a domain name, from the requesting node. A converter converts the e-mail data into facsimile data. A comparator compares the password and the domain name acquired by the acquiring section, with the password and the domain name stored in the memory, respectively. A facsimile transmitter transmits the converted facsimile data to the facsimile destination designated by the telephone number when a result of the comparison indicates that the password and the domain name acquired are the same as the password and the domain name stored in said memory. Further, when a result of the comparison indicates that the password and the domain name acquired are not the same as the password and the domain name stored in the memory, the facsimile transmitter does not transmit the facsimile data to the facsimile destination.

An image data communication apparatus is connected to an image data source and to a network, and transmits image data attached to an e-mail to a receiving apparatus via the network. The e-mail including a mail from command and a mail message. The image data attached to the e-mail as an openable document. The image data communication apparatus comprises a panel section which inputs a mail address of a user to image data communication apparatus. The image data communication apparatus comprises a controller which sets the mail address of the user input by the panel section into the mail from command of the e-mail to which the image data is attached. Thus, a mail error message is returned to the mail address of the user.

The e-mail including a mail from command and a mail message. The image data attached to the e-mail as an openable document. The image data communication apparatus comprises a memory which stores default information and information regarding an identification of at least one user, and a panel section which selects information regarding an identification of at least one user other than the default information stored in the memory. The image data communication apparatus comprises a controller which sets the default information into the mail message of the e-mail to which the image data is attached when the information regarding the identification of the user is not selected by the panel section, and sets the information regarding identification of the user selected by the panel section into the mail message of the e-mail to which the image data is attached when the information regarding the identification of the user is selected by the panel section.

Abstract:
There is described a network image forming apparatus system including the image forming apparatus capable of communicating with a predetermined network. The system includes means for verifying to determine whether or not an image forming apparatus is capable of receiving electronic mail correctly; and means for displaying the result of this verification, and, if setting of a connection parameter is incorrect, displaying a particular item of incorrect setting and a way of correcting this incorrect setting; wherein self-transmission and reception is possible without being affected by delay in distribution of electronic mail to a mail server; the display means showing for a user a message indicating the necessity of rebooting if there is any change in the connection parameter requiring rebooting of the image forming apparatus.
