An information processing device is provided with a terminal screen processing portion. When the terminal screen processing portion receives from a terminal a command to register and delete a functional item of each function that the information processing device executes, the terminal screen processing portion registers and deletes a selected functional item with respect to a shortcut tab of a list page and also guides a screen of the list page of a result of registration and deletion to a display portion of the terminal. Furthermore, the terminal screen processing portion, when receiving from a terminal a command to delete a functional item to be the last with respect to the list page, creates a screen in which the list page is not displayed, and guides the screen to the display portion of the terminal.

An image forming apparatus includes a display unit with a power saving function, where the display unit is turned off after a predetermined period of time has elapsed to save power. If however, the display unit is displaying a code used by external devices to establish communication with the image forming apparatus, the power saving function is disabled during the time period the code is being displayed.

An image display apparatus capable of performing communications via a network includes an energy-saving state shifting part to shift an energy state to an energy-saving state in which energy consumption is suppressed, a shifting time setting part to set a time required for shifting to the energy-saving state in accordance with a state or an environment of the image display apparatus, a data input detector to detect presence or absence of data input into the image display apparatus, and an operations detector to detect whether an operation on the image display apparatus is being performed by a user. A portable electronic device with a touch screen display for photo management is disclosed. One aspect of the invention involves a computer-implemented method in which the portable electronic device displays an array of thumbnail images corresponding to a set of photographic images. The device replaces the displayed array of thumbnail images with a user-selected photographic image upon detecting a user contact with a corresponding thumbnail image in the array. The user-selected photographic image is displayed at a larger scale than the corresponding thumbnail image. The portable device displays a different photographic image in replacement of the user-selected photographic image in accordance with a scrolling gesture. The scrolling gesture comprises a substantially horizontal movement of user contact with the touch screen display.

In one example, a portable projection capture device includes a digital camera and a projector mounted below the camera. The camera defines a capture area on a work surface within which the camera is configured to capture still and video images. The projector defines a display area on the work surface overlapping the capture area. A system that deters an unauthorized person from viewing the image in the display of a handheld electronic device. The handheld electronic device has a touch screen display. A touch security parameter requires a person to repeatedly tap the touch screen display with one or two fingers. The touch screen display will only accurately display an image for as long as the tapping continues. A camera security parameter senses the location of a face in the field of view of a camera. The touch screen display will only accurately show the image for as long as a face is detected in the camera's field of view. A position security parameter detects pitch and yaw with respect to the downward direction of gravity. The touch screen display will only accurately show the image for as long as the display is held within a range of acceptable positions.

An image comparison device includes: a storage in which a model image is stored, the model image including a position of a feature point of a comparison object and a luminance gradient direction at the position of the feature point; a feature amount acquisition unit configured to acquire the position of the feature point and the luminance gradient direction at the position of the feature point from an input image; and an image comparison unit configured to compare the model image and the input image. The image comparison unit performs image comparison by providing an allowable range in both the position of the feature point and the luminance gradient direction at the position of the feature point position.
