    Abstract: In embodiments of a mobile-first photography workflow device, digital photos that have been captured with a digital camera are received by the workflow device, and proxy images that each corresponds to one of the digital photos is created, where the proxy images have less data than a corresponding one of the digital photos, yet remain configured for photo editing. The proxy images are communicated to a tablet device that can receive and display a proxy image that has the less data than the corresponding digital photo. The workflow device can then receive a metadata update from the tablet device, where the metadata update is associated with a photographer editing a proxy image. An edited digital photo can then be generated at the workflow device based on the metadata update applied to the corresponding digital photo, and the edited digital photo can be synchronized with additional computing devices.

    Abstract: An image forming apparatus of the present disclosure includes an image output unit, a nonvolatile storage unit, an original-image generating device, and a log-image generating device. The image output unit outputs an image. The nonvolatile storage unit stores information even in the event of a power interruption. The original-image generating device generates an original image in the nonvolatile storage unit. The log-image generating device generates a log image based on the original image. Further, when the image forming apparatus is started, if the original image is stored in the nonvolatile storage unit, the log-image generating device generates the log image based on the original image stored in the nonvolatile storage unit.

    Abstract: There is disclosed means for uploading/downloading images to/from a remote server and for viewing the same. The uploading/downloading of the images to/from the remote server is parallel instead of serial. This means that the images, instead of being transferred as a sequential stream of bytes, instead are arranged in scans of image data in such a way that the uploaded/downloaded images can be browsed early albeit at a lower quality than if the entire image data is considered. As in the serial case, it is possible to interrupt the uploading/downloading process at any time, and still browse the received image data. Likewise it is possible to re-start the uploading/downloading process in the future.

    Abstract: An imaging apparatus is configured to capture an object image, generate a RAW image, perform simple development on the RAW image during the image capturing operation, and store not only the developed image but also the RAW image in a storage medium. If the imaging apparatus displays an image during the image capturing operation and immediately after the image capturing operation, the imaging apparatus displays the image processed by the simple development. When the imaging apparatus completes processing of high-quality image development, the imaging apparatus replaces the image processed by the simple development with the image processed by the high-quality image development and displays the image processed by the high-quality image development.

    Abstract: An approach is described for adjusting prominence of a participant profile in a social networking interface. An associated method may include receiving an activity stream update of the participant and calculating a relevancy score based on content in the activity stream update. The method further may include adjusting a visibility level of the profile of the participant in the social networking interface based upon the calculated relevancy score. Adjusting the visibility level may include increasing the visibility level of the profile of the participant upon determining that the calculated relevancy score is greater than or equal to a first predefined threshold value. Adjusting the visibility level further may include decreasing the visibility level of the profile of the participant upon determining that calculated relevancy score of the participant is less than a second predefined threshold value.
