A flat panel display such as an organic light emitting diode (OLED) display or a liquid crystal display (LCD) is disclosed. In one aspect, the OLED display includes: an OLED panel, a foam member attached to the bottom side of the panel by interposing an adhesive layer therebetween and a flexible circuit board electrically connected to the panel and curved and then attached to the foam member. The foam member includes a corresponding portion corresponding to the flexible circuit board and a non-corresponding portion not corresponding to the flexible circuit board, and the adhesive layer forms an air outlet path in at least the non-corresponding portion.

A double-side light emitting display panel includes a substrate, a plurality of top emission pixel structures and a plurality of bottom emission pixel structures. The top emission pixel structures are disposed on the substrate, and the bottom emission pixel structures are disposed on the substrate. The top emission pixel structures and the bottom emission pixel structures are arranged alternatively on the substrate.

To form stabilized organic light-emitting medium layers using the relief printing method and to provide an organic EL element excellent in terms of pattern-forming accuracy, film thickness uniformity and light-emitting characteristics, a substrate 2, first electrode layers 3 provided on the substrate 2, organic light-emitting medium layers 5 which are provided on the first electrode layers 3 and emit light when electrically connected, and second electrodes 6 which are provided on the organic light-emitting medium layers 5 and make the organic light-emitting medium layers 5 electrically connected when voltage is applied between the first electrodes 3 and the second electrodes are provided. In addition, at least one of the organic light-emitting medium layers 5 is formed of a mixture containing a polymer material having a weight-average molecular weight in a range of 1.5 million to 25 million and at least one low molecular material having a non-repetitive structure. Also, the mixing ratio between the polymer material and the low molecular material is set in a range of 0.05:1 to 0.5:1 in terms of weight ratio.

A fluorescent lamp is provided including a phosphor blend comprising less than about 10% by weight rare earth phosphor, based on the total weight of the phosphor composition. This phosphor blend, when coated on a lamp, provides a lamp that exhibits high color rendering index (CRI), of at least 87, while simultaneously achieving low CCT, of less than about 4500K, i.e. of between about 3000K and 4500K. The phosphor system provided includes a non-rare earth strontium red broad band phosphor, a non-rare earth blue broad band halophosphor, and a rare earth-doped green-blue emitting phosphor, more specifically, a combination of SAR and blue-halo non-rare earth phosphors, and less than 20 wt % BAMn phosphor, based on the total weight of the phosphor system.

A lightweight flexible light-emitting device which is able to possess a curved display portion and display a full color image with high resolution and the manufacturing process thereof are disclosed. The light-emitting device comprises: a plastic substrate; an insulating layer with an adhesive interposed therebetween; a thin film transistor over the insulating layer; a protective insulating film over the thin film transistor; a color filter over the protective insulating film; an interlayer insulating film over the color filter; and a white-emissive light-emitting element formed over the interlayer insulating film and being electrically connected to the thin film transistor.

A light-emitting element is provided which has a light-emitting layer between a first electrode and a second electrode, where the light-emitting layer has a first layer and a second layer; the first layer contains a first organic compound and a third organic compound; the second layer contains a second organic compound and the third organic compound; the first layer is provided to be in contact with the second layer on the first electrode side; the first organic compound is an organic compound with an electron transporting property; the second organic compound is an organic compound with a hole transporting property; the third organic compound has an electron trapping property; and light emission from the third organic compound can be obtained when voltage is applied to the first electrode and the second electrode so that the potential of the first electrode is higher than that of the second electrode.

Disclosed is a light-emitting device (1) including a light-emitting element (2) emitting primary light, and a light converter (3) absorbing a part of the primary light emitted from the light-emitting element (2) and emitting secondary light having a longer wavelength than the primary light. The light converter (3) contains a green light-emitting phosphor (4) and a red light-emitting phosphor (5). The green light-emitting phosphor (4) is composed of at least one phosphor selected from a divalent europium-activated oxynitride phosphor substantially represented by the following formula: EuaSibAlcOdNe and a divalent europium-activated silicate phosphor substantially represented by the following formula: 2(Ba1-f-gMIfEug)O.SiO2, while the red light-emitting phosphor (5) is composed of at least one phosphor selected from tetravalent manganese-activated fluoro-tetravalent metalate phosphors substantially represented by the following formulae: MII2(MIII1-hMnh)F6 and/or MIV(MIII1-hMnh)F6. Consequently, the light-emitting device (1) has excellent color gamut (NTSC ratio).

The invention relates to a method for making an electronic display device (1) having a screen (3) covered by a protection plate, and to a substrate (2) covered by said screen for obtaining such a device. The method comprises the following steps: a) applying glue (10) at the non cross-linked state substantially on the entire surface of the screen and/or the assembling surface (11a) of the plate (11) following a deposit on the screen connection area (5) of at least one organic layer (15) for protecting the connection area from the glue; applying the assembling surface against the screen via the glue; c) emitting a radiation through the plate for cross-linking the glue; and d) removing a portion of the plate covering the connection area so that the latter can be electrically accessible, the protection layer being removed from the connection area upon said removal or during a further surface processing step. According to the invention, the protection layer contains at least one organic compound selected from the group comprising compounds derived from diamines and organometallic complexes with heterocycles.

The present invention relates to an organic electro-luminescence display device and a method for fabricating the same, in which damage to a pad portion is prevented for improving yield.The organic electro-luminescence display device includes a thin film transistor array unit formed on a front surface of a lower substrate and a pad portion extended from the thin film transistor array unit, an organic EL array unit on the thin film transistor array unit having a matrix of organic EL cells, and a protective member for protecting the organic EL array unit and the thin film transistor array unit and exposing the pad portion to an outside, wherein the lower substrate has a thickness of a first region overlapped with the pad portion thicker than a thickness of a second region overlapped with the thin film transistor array unit.
