Abstract: Various embodiments comprise a wireless communication network to qualify user devices for network policy association. In some examples, the wireless communication network comprises a control plane. The control plane detects a registration request for a User Equipment (UE) and registers the UE for network data services. The control plane retrieves network slice information for the UE from a network data system and determines when Policy Control Function (PCF) registration is available based on the network slice information. When the PCF registration is available, the control plane registers the UE with a PCF, receives network policies for the UE from the PCF, and transfers a registration accept message with the network policies to the UE. When PCF registration is not available, the control plane forgoes the PCF registration for the wireless UE and transfers the registration accept message to UE without the network polices.

Abstract: Adaptable resiliency for a virtualized radio access network (vRAN) framework is disclosed. A resiliency management component can determine vRAN topological adaptations that can reflect resiliency requirements of service instance(s). Accordingly, sufficient redundant vRAN components to satisfy the resiliency requirements can be deployed. However, unlike conventional redundancy techniques that can determine a highest level of redundancy and then apply that relative to all supported services, the disclosed subject matter can avoid over-deploying redundant vRAN components, e.g., redundant components exceeding the resiliency requirement of a service instance, resulting in lowered monetary and non-monetary costs to maintain a vRAN. Moreover, as the services change, the topology of the vRAN can be automatically adapted to purge excessive redundancies, add newly required redundancies, etc., which can facilitate propagating an adequate but lean vRAN topology that is sufficiently resilient.

Abstract: A network access server (NAS) device on a wireless network at a site is described, the NAS device comprising memory including a policy cache having entries for one or more client devices where each entry includes a last policy action previously identified by a network access control (NAC) system for the respective client device. The NAS device further comprising processing circuitry configured to, upon receipt of an access request for the wireless network from a client device, authenticate the client device. The processing circuitry is configured to, after authentication of the client device, determine whether the client device is included in the policy cache. The processing circuitry is configured to, based on the client device being included in the policy cache, authorize the client device to access the wireless network in accordance with the last policy action for the client device.

Abstract: Systems and methods for radio protocol architectures in cell-free networks are disclosed herein. One or more base stations make up a cell-free cluster that serves a user equipment (UE). A clustering control function (CCF) may establish, for a radio bearer that communicates data between the cluster and the UE, one or more sub-clusters of the one or more base stations. Each sub-cluster corresponds to a unique RLC entity within the protocol stack for the radio bearer in question. The CCF communicates with the base stations of the cluster and the UE to establish this sub-clustering arrangement. Details of this messaging are described herein. Data of the radio bearer is then transmitted between the cluster and the UE according to the established sub-clusters/RLC entities. For example, the network may transport either the same data of the radio bearer and/or unique data of the radio bearer through any/each of the sub-clusters/RLC entities.

Abstract: A communication method and a communication apparatus are disclosed. A control network element receives first information from a user equipment (UE), where the first information includes multi-3GPP access request indication information or change indication information. The control network element determines, based on the first information, whether to allow the UE to establish a multi-3GPP access session. The multi-3GPP access request indication information indicates that the UE requests to establish the multi-3GPP access session, and the change indication information indicates that the UE allows the control network element to change from establishing a dual access session or a single access session to establishing the multi-3GPP access session. In this way, the control network element determines whether the UE can support a plurality of 3GPP connections at the same time, so that the UE can establish the multi-3GPP access session of new radio (NR) and long term evolution (LTE).

Abstract: Systems and methods for outroute load balancing in a multi-band hybrid satellite communication system include comparing the load metric of each of code rate organizers (CROs) to a threshold value; placing each CRO in one of a surplus load balancing set and a deficit balancing set based on a value of the load metric; and determining a probability metric for each satellite terminal associated with each of the CROs in the surplus load balancing set. The probability metric indicates a probability of the terminal moving to one of the CROs in the deficit load balancing set. At least one satellite terminal associated with one of the CROs in the surplus load balancing set is then caused to switch to one of the CROs in the deficit load balancing set based on the probability metric of the at least one satellite terminal.

Abstract: The system obtains a first acyclic graph including multiple nodes and edges connecting the multiple nodes. A process to create a weave of the first acyclic graph produces a matching weave when executed on the first acyclic graph by different computing devices. An addition of a node to the first acyclic graph produces a second acyclic graph. The addition of the node to the first acyclic graph changes the weave of the first acyclic graph. The system obtains a process to reach a global consensus among the multiple computing devices. The process indicates a criterion to satisfy prior to reaching the global consensus and determines whether the multiple computing devices in the network satisfy the criterion. Upon determining that the criterion is satisfied, the system adds a finalize node to the first acyclic graph to obtain a third acyclic graph. A weave of the third acyclic graph cannot change.

Abstract: A technique for adding a new information rate to a legacy physical interface of a communications system includes using a rate switch packet including a distinct rate select start-of-frame delimiter that indicates a newly defined physical interface packet. The rate switch packet uses the same modulation scheme as a base rate packet (e.g., a packet using an information rate defined by a standard communications protocol) and the same preamble pattern as the base rate packet. The preamble length of the rate switch packet can be the same as or different from the preamble length of the base rate packet. An embodiment uses antenna diversity by selecting the antenna in the rate switch packet and using the selected antenna to receive an adjusted rate packet. Additional rate switch start-of-frame delimiters can be used to indicate more than one adjusted rate packet, e.g., to support multiple adjusted information rates.
