Abstract:
An apparatus for recirculating developer material in a developer unit. The apparatus includes a first transporter for transporting the developer material in a first direction, a second transporter for transporting the developer material in a second direction opposite to the first direction, and a mover for moving the developer material from the first transporter to the second transporter.
Abstract:
An apparatus for filtering contaminants from marking particles within a conduit is provided. The apparatus includes a mover for moving the marking particles in the conduit and a screen positioned adjacent the conduit so that the marking particles pass through the screen. The apparatus also includes an applicator for applying an electrical bias between the mover and the screen to facilitate the passage of marking particles through the screen.
Abstract:
A system for sealing a member mounted in a support to rotate about an axis thereof and being at least partially in a chamber of a housing with magnetic particles being disposed at least in a region between the housing and the member. The system includes a magnetic member including a plurality of magnetic poles with magnetization axes extending in a direction substantially transverse to the axis of the member.
Abstract:
A developer unit includes a housing defining a chamber for storing a supply of toner therein. The developer unit also includes a member for moving the toner in the chamber of the housing and a support structure, projecting from the housing, for supporting the member. The developer unit further includes a bearing located in the support structure. The bearing is spaced from the housing and rotatably supports the member.
Abstract:
An apparatus which develops an electrostatic latent image recorded on a photoconductive member employed in an electrophotographic printing machine having a finite, usable life. The apparatus employs a developer material which ages during the life of the electrophotographic printing machine. A continuous supply of carrier granules is furnished to the developer material. The addition of these carrier granules extends the useful life of the developer material so as to correspond to at least the useful life of the electrophotographic printing machine.
Abstract:
This is a photoconductor and dispenser assembly and system. The photoconductor is in a tubular form so as to accept a tubular formed dispenser within its hollow portion. The dispenser will coat within this hollow portion a uniform coating of an acoustical dampening material. This material will dull any sound produced by the photoconductive marking system. The assembly is the tube having in its hollow portion this dispenser. The dispenser fits tightly but movably within the hollow portion.
Abstract:
Method for acoustic dampening of photoreceptor and ionographic drums using an acoustic dampening applied to and cured on the interior of a drum. Embodiments provide excellent acoustic dampening of the resonance modes, and thus, substantially eliminates the problematic sounds that are often emitted from the xerographic printing machines.
Abstract:
A donor roll for transporting marking particles to an electrostatic latent image recorded on a surface is provided. The donor roll includes a rotatably mounted body and an electrode member mounted on the body. The donor roll further includes a magnetically permeable core external to the body. The core rotates with the body. The core is composed of a plurality of wires. The donor roll further includes an electrically conductive material positioned on the core. The material is electrically connected to the electrode member.
Abstract:
An apparatus for developing a latent image recorded on a surface, the apparatus includes a housing defining a chamber storing a supply of developer material including toner; a toner donor member spaced from the surface and being adapted to transport toner to a region opposed from the surface; a magnetic brush for conveying the developer material in the chamber of the housing onto the donor member; and a rigid planar porous electrode member spaced near the surface of a donor roll, the electrode member being electrically biased to detach toner from the donor member as to form a toner cloud for developing the latent image.
