Abstract: Embodiments herein describe techniques for dynamically negotiating an SLA between a roaming device and a VN in an identity federation. Instead of an IDP having to individually negotiate with a VN to decide on an SLA before a user device roams to the VN, the parties can dynamically negotiate the SLA after the user device has detected the VN (but before the device is permitted to connect or associate with the VN). In one embodiment, when a roaming user device comes within wireless range of a VN, the roaming device receives an advertisement from the VN that indicates the current SLA (or SLAs) offered by the VN. The roaming device can compare this offered SLA to a stored SLA in an identity profile the device received from the IDP to determine whether to accept the offer. In another embodiment, the SLA is instead negotiated between VN and the IDP.

Abstract: Techniques for dynamic bandwidth expansion are provided. A first set of channel quality metrics is collected, by an access point (AP) communicating using a first bandwidth, for an expanded bandwidth beyond the first bandwidth. A second set of channel quality metrics for the expanded bandwidth is received from one or more stations. An available portion of the expanded bandwidth is then determined based on the first and second sets of channel quality metrics. Communication with the one or more stations is initiated using the available portion of the expanded bandwidth.

Abstract: Dynamic policy mapping is provided via mapping, by an Access Point (AP), a plurality of applications to a set of privilege groups for Quality of Service (QoS) levels in a network; transmitting the mapping of the privilege groups to a client device; receiving packets from the client device including QoS markers; and in response to determining that the QoS markers received from the client device do not match the privilege groups for the packets, performing a corrective action on the client device, wherein the corrective action includes one or more of: disassociating the client device from the network; and retransmitting the set of privilege groups to the client device. In some embodiments, the privilege groups are transmitted before the client device is associated with the AP, enabling the client device to select what AP to associate with based on the privilege groups.

Abstract: Disclosed are a system and method for avoiding interference in direct communication between peers in a Wi-Fi network. A station (STA) desiring to communicate directly with another STA reports a change in interference to a function that determines a set of unsafe frequencies caused by interference near the STA. The function sends a report containing the set of unsafe frequencies to the AP for the STA. The AP then evaluates the severity of the interference and selects a set of RUs that are suitable for a TXOP for direct communication between the STA and another STA. The AP informs the STAs of the selected set of RUs, and the STAs communicate with each other using the selected RUs. If allowed, the STA sends feedback regarding the success of the communication to the AP.

Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for characterizing the propagation properties of a plurality of radio frequency links without sounding each link. An access point sounds a first link and receives, from a station connected to the access point, channel state information, which may be compressed, from which it constructs a geometric representation applicable to the plurality of radio frequency links. The access point performs a sounding of a second link and receives from the station delta information, which may be compressed, regarding propagation differences between the first link and the second link. The access point then derives the propagation characteristics of the second link based on the geometric representation and the delta information. In some cases, the delta information is null, indicating no difference between the two links.

Abstract: An unsafe frequency report from a client device is received, the unsafe frequency report indicating that the client device is experiencing interference on a set of frequencies. A set of safe frequencies is identified, for the client device, based on interference indicated in the unsafe frequency report, and dynamic puncturing is performed based on the unsafe frequency report, comprising identifying an allocation of wireless resources for the client device during a transmission opportunity based on the set of safe frequencies, where the allocation of wireless resources punctures one or more of the set of frequencies, and communicating with the client device using the allocation of wireless resources.

Abstract: Techniques for wireless multi-link operation (MLO) are disclosed. These techniques include determining that a first wireless station (STA), in a wireless network comprising a wireless access point (AP) and a plurality of peer-to-peer (P2P) STAs, comprises a non-simultaneous transmit and receive (NSTR) constraint. The techniques further include allocating one or more wireless links relating to MLO for the AP and the plurality of P2P STAs, based on the NSTR constraint, and initiating transmission between the AP and one or more of the P2P STAs using MLO and the allocated one or more wireless links.
