Abstract:
A filter-ventilator-arrangement for employment with clean chambers with at least one ventilator of which the pressure side is located toward an air flow chamber which is limited by boundary walls including a flow chamber formed by at least one annular channel of which one of two boundary walls at least consists of a noise-damping material. Furthermore at least an outer boundary wall consists of noise-damping material. The arrangement includes modular units having several annular channels of which the boundary walls decrease in height from the outside to the inside. Each unit has at least one filter which is arranged in a region below the flow chamber. Innermost boundary walls with inner sides thereof adjoin a plate consisting of noise-damping material. The boundary walls are secured, hanging or suspended on the cover sealing part. At least one heat exchanger lies in a suction region of the ventilator via which the return air flows.
Abstract:
A heel holder includes a ski brake, a bearing block which is arranged on a base plate, and a housing which is supported swingably on the bearing block, wherein the housing carries a sole hold-down member which is under the influence of a spring, and is held in the skiing position by a locking lever or a pawl, and wherein braking mandrels of the ski brake, with respect to their swivelling movement to the braking position, are controlled by the housing. In order to permit an opening of the heel holder and a swivelling of the ski brake into the braking position in a simple manner when only the front jaw of the ski binding has released, the ski brake is provided with a stepping plate and is operatively connected through a coupling or operating member to the locking lever or the pawl.
Abstract:
A needle thread control mechanism for sewing machines which permits a machine operator to adjust the stitch tightness includes a thread take-up mechanism arranged wholly outside of the machine frame and a thread controlling mechanism arranged directly between the needle thread take-up mechanism and a thread supply source. A thread controller, adapted to cooperate with the thread take-up mechanism, is also provided.
Abstract:
A ski brake having a pair of braking legs, which ski brake is pivotal by a force applied by a ski boot or by a sole plate to a pedal about an axle which extends substantially at a right angle with respect to the longitudinal axis of the ski in a mounting member which is secured to the ski, between a braking position against a spring force into a retracted position. Each braking leg has a braking mandrel with a bent segment therein which extends from the braking mandrel toward the longitudinal axis of the ski. The braking leg is held totally above the upper surface of the ski and within the width of the ski in the retracted position of the ski brake by the pedal which is stepped down upon by the ski boot or by the sole plate. In the braking position of the ski brake, the braking mandrel is held lying next to the ski edge and the braking leg projects below the running surface of the ski. The braking leg is pivotal about a swivel axle which extends in longitudinal direction of the ski when the ski brake is in the retracted position. The end of the braking leg remote from the braking mandrel is provided with a crank segment which engages a control part pivotally secured to the pedal. The control part is engageable with the upper surface of the ski as the pedal moves toward the retracted position of the ski brake to effect the aforementioned movement of the braking mandrel to a position oriented within the width of the ski.
Abstract:
A safety ski binding has a support member supported for pivotal movement about a vertical axis, and a sole holder is supported on the support member for pivotal movement about a horizontal axis. A lever supported on the support member for pivotal movement about a horizontal axis has a first locking element engageable with a second locking element on the rear of the sole holder and has a control surface on its side opposite the first locking element. A housing for a release spring is supported on the support member for pivotal movement about a horizontal axis and has a sliding element which the release spring urges against the control surface on the lever. A centering spring cooperable with the support member and housing pivotally urges the housing to a position in which the sliding member is engaging the control surface of the lever. A second set of locking elements yieldably resists pivotal movement of the support member.
Abstract:
The gas to be polymerized is introduced into the working zone of a high pressure piston compressor and is compressed in timed relation to a pressure suitable for the polymerization. The gas temperature suitable for the polymerization process at the end of the compression stroke is set by cooling or heating the gas before the gas enters the compressor. The catalyst or initiator activating the polymerization is introduced into the working zone of the compressor during the compression stroke or after completion thereof, e.g. with the aid of a controlled injection valve. The gas containing the polymer and expanded approximately to the initial pressure is passed out of the compressor into a separator and is here freed from the polymer, while the residual gas is re-cycled to the compressor by means of a blower. For the polymerization of high-pressure polyethylene, the gas is compressed to a final pressure of about 2500 kg/cm.sup.2 at a temperature of about 130.degree. C. in the working zone of the compressor before introduction of the catalyst. The compressor may operate in a two-stroke or four-stroke cycle.
