Abstract:
The operational method is disclosed, for storing analog data in an electrically programmable and erasable memory cell. The memory cell includes a transistor having a source, a drain, a control gate and a floating gate, where the source, the drain and a channel region therebetween being defined in a semiconductor substrate, the floating gate operating to accumulate charge and being capacitively coupled to the source and the control gate. The method includes the steps of: erasing data in the memory cell, and storing analog data in the memory cell. The erasing step including at least the steps of: i) applying a predetermined first erase voltage to the control gate, ii) applying a ground voltage to the drain to erase the memory cell, wherein charges moved from the channel region are accumulated in the floating gate, thereby erasing data in the memory cell. The storing step including at least the steps of: i) applying a predetermined write voltage to the control gate, ii) applying a voltage corresponding to the analog data to be stored to the drain to write the analog data in the memory cell, whereby charges are moved to the control gate from the floating gate being associated with the analog data to be stored.
Abstract:
Titanium oxide particles comprising particulate titanium oxide substrate having a zinc oxy compound or a combination of a zinc oxy compound and a silicon oxy compound supported thereon. They can be produced by adding a zinc compound or a combination of a zinc compound and a silicon compound together with an alkali to a dispersion of particulate titanium oxide substrate to neutralize the zinc compound or the combination of the zinc compound and the silicon compound in said dispersion, then separating and drying the resultant product. They are useful for pigments, catalysts, catalyst supports and adsorbents, and particularly excellent in deodorizing performance by removing malodorous gases such as ammonia, methyl mercaptan, hydrogen sulfide, trimethylamine, methyl sulfide and acetaldehyde through decomposition and adsorption thereof, so that they are useful as white deodorants for sanitary objects such as paper diaper and sanitary napkins which come to directly contact with the skins of human beings.
Abstract:
A GPS receiver includes a power supplying status detector for deriving a power-on or power-off signal by detecting a power supplying status of the GPS receiver, a clock for measuring time, a memory controller for controlling a nonvolatile memory upon receiving the power-off signal to store a time measured by the clock when the power is turned off or a time when the last ephemeris data is obtained and the last ephemeris data, and a position calculating circuitry for calculating the position of the user station upon receiving the power-on signal. A time duration is calculated from the time measured by the clock and the time stored in the nonvolatile memory. If it is determined that the measured time duration is shorter than a predetermined period of time, the positioning is performed based on the respective ephemeris data stored in the nonvolatile memory, whereas if it is determined that the measured time duration is no less than the predetermined period of time, the positioning is performed based on ephemeris data newly collected from the respective GPS satellites.
Abstract:
An electronic musical instrument has a tone generation mode selecting switch capable of selecting a tone generation mode associated with an arbitrary one of a keyboard instrument play mode, a stringed instrument play mode and a wind instrument play mode, and a CPU for controlling the tone generation mode for a tone generator in accordance with the selection. This electronic musical instrument serving as a so-called tone generator module, can be driven by a MIDI signal supplied to a MIDI circuit from an external unit.
Abstract:
An on-board navigation system for motor vehicles comprises a first storage medium in which map data in digital form is stored, a control device for gathering map data of a region having a given area including a present location of the vehicle from a first storage medium, and to display a map on a display screen on the basis of the gathered map data, and a second storage medium of non-volatile type into and from which data is written and read-out. The control device is operative to memorize, at the time of the turn-off of a power supply of the vehicle, data gathered immediately before a fall of the power in the second storage medium, and to display the map at the time of a rise-up of the power supply on the basis of the data memorized in the second storage medium.
Abstract:
A method for displaying a map, including steps of evaluating a start dot and an end dot of each segment defining a boundary of a predetermined area on the map, storing sequentially each of the evaluated data so that each of the segments has a lateral deflection with respect to the predetermined area, determining the lateral deflection of the predetermined area according to the evaluated data for the start and end dots of the segment when the predetermined area is painted on a display unit, calculating a start point for painting positioned inward of the segment and each of the evaluated data, and painting the predetermined area with a predetermined color from the start point.
