Abstract:
A semiconductor device with which a panel having a large area or a narrowly margined with the circumferential space minimized can be manufactured stably with a high yield. The semiconductor device comprises a TFT substrate having a plurality of pixels of a plurality of TFT (thin film transistors) provided on the substrate in which a peripheral wire is arranged along the outer periphery of the TFT substrate and connected to a constant potential.
Abstract:
A method of forming a resist pattern on a substrate, comprises the steps of: forming a resist film on the substrate, supplying a developing solution onto the resist film, submerging the substrate and the resist film formed thereon in a rinsing liquid kept in a rinsing tank, and applying ultrasonic vibration to the rinsing liquid to rinse the developing solution from the resist film submerged in the rinsing liquid.
Abstract:
A cylindrical member is placed in a dead-end hole formed in a housing made of a material such as aluminum. A peripheral portion of the hole is pressed down to plastically deform the housing material and to supply the deformed material into a groove formed on an outer periphery of the cylindrical member. The cylindrical member is calked to the housing in this manner. To supply a proper amount of deformed material into the groove for obtaining a quality calking, an inflection point of a calking curve indicating a relation of a calking force and a calking stroke is detected during the calking process. After the inflection point is detected, the calking is performed by giving a predetermined calking stroke or by adding a predetermined calking force.
Abstract:
A radiation thermometer that avoids deterioration of measurement accuracy or loss of hygiene due to a dirty front end of a probe portion of the radiation thermometer, lowers running costs which are created if a probe cover is used, and reduces the labor of procuring the probe cover. To this end, the front end of the probe portion of the radiation thermometer has a waterproof structure so that the front end of the probe portion can be wiped with alcohol or the like.
Abstract:
In a photoelectric conversion device including peripheral ICs, the peripheral ICs are in thermal contact with a substrate having photoelectric conversion elements and a chassis, which covers the peripheral ICs and has high thermal conductivity, via a thermal conductive member, so as to eliminate adverse influences of heat produced by the peripheral ICs such as a low S/N ratio.
Abstract:
It is an object of the present invention to provide a disk storage apparatus which employs a rotary actuator mechanically excellent as compared with a linear-movement actuator and can employ, in a disk cartridge, a slidable shutter that easily prevents dusts from entering the disk cartridge, and a disk cartridge therefor. The disk storage apparatus includes a disk cartridge in which a disk-like storage medium is rotatably accommodated, an apparatus body onto which the disk cartridge is detachably loaded, a shutter opening and closing mechanism provided on the apparatus body for, in an interlocking operation with an operation of attaching and detaching the disk cartridge, opening and closing a shutter capable of opening and closing a head-positioning-mechanism insertion slot of the disk cartridge, and a rotary head-positioning mechanism provided on the apparatus body for inserting a head portion for recording and/or reproducing information on and/or from the disk-like storage medium through the head-positioning-mechanism insertion slot opened when the disk cartridge is loaded,. The disk cartridge includes a slidable shutter for opening and closing the head-positioning-mechanism insertion slot by its sliding operation. The rotary head-positioning mechanism includes a rotation actuator for inserting the head unit into the disk cartridge through the head-positioning-mechanism insertion slot. According to the disk storage apparatus, it is possible to provide the disk storage apparatus which makes it difficult for the dusts to enter the disk cartridge and has a high reliability in the recording and/or reproduction.
Abstract:
An optically active device comprising an optical fiber, a light source and a coupler is disclosed. The optical fiber has a core made of a silicate glass containing Rb and/or Cs oxide. The core is doped with Nd.sup.3+ as an active ion and transmits light at 1.3 .mu.m band. The light source generates excitation light at 0.8 .mu.m. The coupler directs the excitation light from the light source into the core of the optical fiber. A signal light or a spontaneous light at 1.3 .mu.m band which is transmitted in the core stimulates Nd.sup.3+ to emit light at 1.3 .mu.m band. As a result an optical function such as optical amplification can be effected at 1.3 .mu.m band.
