Abstract:
A device avoiding the use of any motor or perpendicular or rectangular elements, having a convex asymmetrical longitudinal curve, a central longitudinal groove, and mirrored perpendicular and latitudinal, symmetrically-matched convex curves extending from the central groove to the sides, and optimally surfaced with a soft dense foam, uses gravitational force on the body of a user to provide an effective, yet gentle stretch along the length and across the width of the back, particularly at the thoracic vertebrae thereby relieving postural mechanical shoulder, back or spine pain. Additional alternative embodiments using a heating, cooling, or vibrational element along the central longitudinal groove are also described and claimed herein.
Abstract:
A massage roller comprises a central spinal recess portion, a circular wall portion on each side of the spinal recess portion, and an outer portion extending outwardly from each of the circular wall portions, the outer portion having a first diameter at or near the circular wall portion, and a second diameter remote from the circular wall portion, the second diameter being larger than the first diameter.
Abstract:
A handheld device for application to a skin surface of a human or animal. The device includes a housing arranged and configured for gripping by a human hand, a body-care surface operatively connected to the housing arranged and configured to transfer heat and motion to the skin surface, a motion-generating system contained within the housing, and a heat-generating element thermally coupled to the body-care surface. The motion-generating system includes a motor operatively coupled to the body-care surface to impart motion thereto and electrically coupled to an internal electric power source contained within the housing. The heat-generating element includes a container having at least one thermally conductive surface enclosing an electric heater in thermal contact with a thermal energy storage medium and an electrical connection for selective coupling to an external electrical power source.
Abstract:
A method includes the steps of: a) electrically connecting an electric heater to an external electrical power source, b) disconnecting the electric heater from the external electrical power source, c) energizing a motor contained within the housing to impart motion to a body-care surface, and d) applying the body-care surface to the skin surface while the electric heater is disconnected from the external electrical power source. The electric heater heats a thermal energy storage medium in thermal contact therewith, and the electric heater and thermal energy storage medium are associated with a handheld device having a housing arranged and configured for gripping by a human hand. The motor imparts motion to a body-care surface operatively connected to the housing and in thermal contact with the thermal energy storage medium.
Abstract:
A system and method for inducing myofascial release using temperature variation. Specifically, myofascial release device can include a roller wherein said roller is hollow, and a temperature retention material inside the roller. The method can comprise heating or cooling the temperature retention material, and retaining the temperature retention material within said roller using said caps. Lastly, a method can include rolling the myofascial release device on a user, wherein the rolling causes myofascial release.
Abstract:
A dildo, including a solid high density heat-resistant glass substrate completely covered by a relatively inert metal plating such as gold, silver, nickel, chromium or titanium, the substrate having a shaft portion, a base portion at one end and a head portion at the opposite end. In one configuration the head and base portions are enlarged, the shaft portion having spaced protuberances. In another configuration the shaft portion is serpentine in form, the head portion is tapered and having a hole formed there through for a tether, and the base portion has oppositely projecting protuberances. The metal plating can have a variety of coloring patterns.
Abstract:
A portable combination medical therapy device that integrates the collective beneficial characteristics of five separate and distinct therapeutic pain relieving, relaxing, stimulating and healing modalities. The device comprises an applicator head that contains: at least two electrically conducting electrodes, a vibration mechanism, light mechanism, heat mechanism and is functionally designed to enable the operator to apply varying pressure and movement to the tissue being treated. The beneficial healing, relaxing and pain relieving results are enhanced because of the convenience and synergistic effect that the portable multiple healing modalities provide.
Abstract:
An exercise apparatus includes a thermal system which carries a support structure. The support structure includes an exercise mat. A conduit extends through the exercise mat and has acupressure structures connected to opposed ends. The acupressure structures provide acupressure to a person exercising on the mat. The thermal system flows heat to and from the conduits and acupressure structures to provide the person with therapeutic modalities.
Abstract:
Described is an exercise tool. More particularly, it is a therapy and exercise tool specifically devised as a foot-therapy and toe-aligning device to align, separate, and stretch toes. The foot-therapy and toe-aligning device comprises a frame with a plurality of posts connected with the frame. The device is formed of an elastic material such that a user may place at least one of the plurality of posts between a user's toes and pull the post to stretch and elongate the post between the toes. Upon release, the elastic material of the post causes the post to attempt to return to its original shape, thereby causing it to expand out and conform its shape to fit snugly against the user's toes. Additionally, the elastic material allows the toe posts to be positioned and maintained at numerous locations between the user's toes for customizable positioning between the toes.
Abstract:
A therapeutic device having a relatively stiff and/or inflexible outer shell with a substantially ellipsoid shape, a plurality of protuberances extending outwardly from the outer shell, and a central core that is completely or substantially filled with a substance capable of being cooled or heated, such substance also capable of retaining cold or heat for an extended period of time.
