Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process for purifying and concentrating 68Ga isotope produced by the irradiation with an accelerated particle beam of a 68Zn target in solution. The process according to the invention allows for the production of pure and concentrated 68Ga isotope in hydrochloric acid solution. The present invention also relates to a disposable cassette suitable to perform the steps of purification and concentration of the process.
Abstract:
The proposed invention relates to a method and a system for the removal of heat stable amine salts from an amine absorbent used in a carbon dioxide (CO2) capture process, the method comprising: withdrawing amine absorbent containing heat stable amine salts from the CO2 capture process; subjecting the withdrawn amine absorbent containing heat stable amine salts to a residual CO2 removal step; subjecting the amine absorbent from the residual CO2 removal step to a separation step to separate heat stable amine salts from the amine absorbent; and returning the amine absorbent having a reduced concentration of heat stable amine salts to the CO2 capture process.
Abstract:
The current method and apparatus relate to treating a dispersion bath using an ion exchange resin and an optional pH adjustor and wherein the ion exchange resin and the optional pH adjustor maintain a pH of within +/−2 of the initial pH of the dispersion bath.
Abstract:
A chemical distribution system having improved organic solvent fluid purity and consistency includes a vessel containing ion-exchange media positioned within a fluid flow pathway such that the organic solvent fluid passes through the ion-exchange media, thereby effecting removal of undesired impurities. Different embodiments of the invention position the vessel at varying locations within the fluid flow pathway. The chemical distribution system also preferably includes a return chemical flow pathway that recirculates purified organic solvent fluid through the ion-exchange media-containing vessel and thereby enables the system operator to conduct incremental adjustment of the solvent purity until a desired overall purity is attained.
Abstract:
A fluid-treating device containing a distributing device having a revolving disc in a stationary housing, and a motor for rotating the disc. Feed and discharge pipes are connected to an end wall of the housing and open onto the revolving disc. Stationary vessels are connected to the housing via connecting pipes. The revolving disc includes a plurality of passageways that open on the outer side of the disc. For a number of positions of the disc, the passageways are each connected to one of the connecting pipes, while feed and discharge pipes open via ring-like ducts into different passageways.
Abstract:
A reactor (1) having a vertical longitudinal axis and an inlet (2) for a liquid or liquid/solid feed stream in the upper region of the reactor and an inlet (3) for a gaseous stream in the lower region of the reactor (1), characterized by at least two chambers (4) arranged above one another in the longitudinal direction, where the chambers (4) are separated from one another by liquid-tight bottom plates, each chamber is connected via a liquid overflow (6) to the chamber (4) located immediately underneath and a liquid product stream is taken off via the liquid overflow (6) of the bottommost chamber (4), the gas space (7) above the liquid surface in each chamber (4) is connected to the chamber (4) located immediately above it by one or more guide tubes (8) which opens (each open) into a gas distributor (9) provided with openings for exit of gas below the liquid surface, and each chamber is provided with at least one guide plate (12) which is arranged vertically around each siphon like gas distributor (9) and whose upper end is below the liquid surface and whose lower end is above the liquid-tight bottom plate (5) of the chamber (4) and which divides each chamber (4) into one or more spaces into which gas flows (13) and one or more spaces into which gas does not flow (14), is used for gas/liquid or gas/liquid/solid reactions.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a fluid treating device, containing a distributing device (2) with a revolving disc (2) in a stationary housing (13), and a motor (15) for rotating the revolving disc (12). Feed and discharge pipes (3, 5, 6; 4, 7, 8) are connected to an end wall of the housing (13) and open onto the revolving disc (12). Stationary vessels (1) are connected to said housing (13) via connecting pipes (10, 11). In the revolving disc (12) are provided passageways (44-49) which open on the round outer side of the disc (12). For a number of positions of this disc (12), the passageways (44-49) are each connected to one of the above-mentioned connecting pipes (10, 11), while feed pipes (3, 5, 6) and discharge pipes (4, 7, 8) open via ring-like ducts (24, 29, 30, 50-52 and 37-38, 53-55) into different passageways (44-49).
Abstract:
Method of concentrating a low-concentration element in a solution and removing other, high-concentration elements, using an ion exchange resin specific to the element to be concentrated. The resin is disposed in a mini-column less than 3 mm in diameter into which the solution is made to pass, the elution of the element from the resin is carried out by using a very small volume of elution liquid. The invention applies to quantitative analysis by emission spectrum in an inductive plasma, and in this case the whole of the small volume of elution liquid, previously nebulized, is simultaneously supplied to the plasma.
