Abstract:
A flow directing apparatus for directing fluid flow includes a flow body defining a bore therethrough configured and adapted to direct fluid flowing therethrough. The bore includes an outlet and an opposed inlet with an enlargement, formed as a countersink and/or a chamfer using a suitable boring device. The enlargement is configured and adapted to reduce sensitivity to entrance-edge conditions for the bore.
Abstract:
A nozzle for the supply of biological material, in particular tissue cells, having a mixing chamber (11) which is delimited by a proximal end surface (21) and a distal end surface (22) spaced apart from the proximal end surface (21), at least one nozzle opening (23) which is formed in the distal end surface (22), and at least two supply ducts (30, 40, 50) which discharge into the mixing chamber (11). A first supply duct (30) is arranged in the proximal end surface (21) and discharges into the mixing chamber (11) coaxially to the nozzle opening (23) and a second supply duct (40) has an inlet opening (42) which discharges into the mixing chamber (11) laterally, in particular tangentially at the distal end surface (22).
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is an external mixing pressurized two-fluid nozzle for atomising a liquid by means of liquid pressure and gas, comprising an inner feed liquid pipe (1) extending axially between an upstream end and a downstream end, having a feed liquid conduit (2), a feed liquid inlet (3) positioned at the upstream end and a feed orifice (4) positioned at the downstream end, and a co-axial first gas pipe (5) extending radially outside the inner feed liquid pipe (1) and forming a first gas conduit (6) between the first gas pipe (5) and the inner feed liquid pipe (1), the first gas pipe (5) having a gas outlet slit (7) positioned at the downstream end. Said external mixing two-fluid nozzle provides a swirling motion of the gas, which combined with a pressurized feed liquid enables the production of spray dried powder at industrially applicable capacities with low energy consumption and a small particle size.
Abstract:
An atomizer includes an atomizer body having a liquid inlet and a spray outlet with a liquid flow circuit defined through the inner atomizer body for fluid communication of liquid from the inlet to the spray outlet. The liquid flow circuit branches into a plurality of sub-circuits. Each sub-circuit is configured to produce a spray cone of atomized liquid issuing from the spray outlet such that the spray cone of each sub-circuit has a different cone angle. The sub-circuits are mechanically separated from one another to limit interaction of liquid in the sub-circuits and thereby produce a distinct and stable spray cone from each sub-circuit over a range of liquid flow rates.
Abstract:
A liquid-in-gas injector tube in which the diameter of the inner liquid-bearing tube within the gas-transmitting tube is reduced adjacent the outlet end of the injector. Clogging may be further reduced by adding vanes to the outer surface of the inner liquid-bearing tube within the gas-transmitting tube to impart swirling or otherwise focus the flow of gas at the exit of the injector tube.
Abstract:
A spray tip assembly capable of self-clearing is provided. The spray tip assembly includes a distal end including an outlet. The outlet defines at least a first configuration during a first condition and at least a second configuration during a second condition. The distal end may be configured to at least one of flex and expand such that the outlet changes from the first configuration to the second configuration.
Abstract:
An applicator assembly for mixing at least a first and second component is provided. The applicator assembly includes a manifold configured for operable engagement with at least a first and second source of component, the manifold including at least a first and second component channel therethrough, an elongated shaft extending distally from the manifold, the elongated shaft including at least a first and second component lumen extending the length thereof, the at least first and second component channels in fluid communication with the at least first and second component channels, a tip assembly defining a first chamber, an intermediate chamber and a final chamber.
Abstract:
An insert, a system, and a method are provided for dispensing a compressed gas product. The insert includes a swirl chamber, inlet ports to the swirl chamber, and an outlet orifice. The insert has specifically configured parameters relating to the diameter of the swirl chamber, the diameter of the outlet orifice, the length of the outlet orifice, and the depth of the swirl chamber. The insert, system, and method can provide a dispensed compressed gas product with a remarkably constant flow rate and with a remarkably constant particle size.
Abstract:
A spray assembly for dispensing a mixture is provided. The spray assembly includes a connector configured for operable engagement with a first and a second source of component and a source of pressurized fluid, and a tip operably connected to the connector. The tip includes an opening and defines a mixing chamber between the connector and the opening of the tip, and an insert member configured to be received in the mixing chamber. The insert member includes a plurality of radially extending slots on at least one end of the insert. The plurality of radially extending slots is configured to mix the first and second components prior to the mixture exiting the opening in the tip.
