Abstract: Biodegradable polyester article comprising enzymes. The present invention relates to novel biodegradable plastic articles comprising a polyester and biological entities able to degrade such polyester, and wherein the biological entities are homogeneously dispersed in the plastic articles. The invention also relates to a process for producing such plastic articles, comprising a step of mixing biological entities with a selected carrier in a liquid composition or in a masterbatch with the polyester.

Abstract: A process is disclosed for combining a cellulose ester polymer with a plasticizer. The cellulose ester polymer is in the form of particles and is combined with a wetting agent and the plasticizer while mixing. The wetting agent dramatically improves the ability of the cellulose ester particles and plasticizer to form a homogeneous mixture. During melt processing, in one embodiment, the wetting agent is volatilized and does not remain in the final product.

The composite material is prepared from a component A and a component B in a weight ratio of 100:(20-50), where the component A includes 40-60 parts by weight of a vegetable oil-based polyol, 35-50 parts by weight of polyether polyol I, 0-10 parts by weight of polyether polyol II, 0.5-5 parts by weight of CBD, 0-5 parts by weight of a natural pigment, 0.5-3 parts by weight of silicon oil, 0-5 parts by weight of a cross-linking agent, 0.2-1 part by weight of a catalyst and 0.8-4 parts by weight of water, and the component B includes 20-50 parts by weight of modified methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI).

Abstract: A method of manufacturing a biodegradable bioplastic includes preparing a plant derived polymer base, preparing bamboo extracts from bamboo wood, and combining the bamboo extracts with the polymer base, optionally by heating and mixing the polymer base in a liquid form together with the bamboo extracts in a liquid form. The bamboo extracts may be applied as a surface treatment of the polymer base, with the polymer base in a solid form. The plant derived polymer base may include water, potassium bicarbonate, glycerol and starch, such as arrowroot. The plant derived polymer base and the bamboo extracts may be combined at ambient temperature, heated, cooled, reheated and recooled and solidified.

Abstract: Disclosed is an additive manufacture material made from polymers and designed to be biodegradeable in a landfill or oceanic environment. The material may be made of bio-based polymers made from caster beans, cellulose, corn, starch, sugarcane, etc., such as nylon 11, bio-based polyethylene, polylactic acid, polyhydroxyalkanote, polyvinyl acetate, etc., to which is added microorganism, such as a bacteria, an enzyme or other additive to facilitate/accelerate the decomposition of the polymer in an environment where the object made through AM has been disposed, e.g., discarded after useful life. The microorganism or other additives that facilitate/accelerate the decomposition of polymers can also be added to petroleum-based, non bio-based polymers.
