Abstract:
A combined oil filter and restrictor assembly is disclosed having an oil flow restrictor interposed between first and second filters so that, irrespective of the direction of oil flow through the restrictor, debris cannot enter a small diameter bore 32 in a body of the restrictor thereby reducing the likelihood of restrictor blockage. The combined oil filter and restrictor assembly includes a metal threaded member that enables the combined oil filter and restrictor assembly to be easily and quickly assembled to or removed from a component such as a cylinder head of a variable displacement engine. The combined oil filter and restrictor assembly can be used to provide a restricted flow of oil from oil supply passages to signal oil passages used for controlling the operation of deactivatable hydraulic lash adjusters so as to purge the signal oil passages when the deactivatable hydraulic lash adjusters are not deactivated.
Abstract:

The valve assemblies may be used for performing fluid refill operations, fluid evacuation operations, fluid purge operations, and other types of fluid operations in connection with machine maintenance.
Abstract:
A fluid filter such as an oil filter for a vehicle is provided. The fluid filter includes a body having a first, closed end and a second, open end. A plate is coupled to the second end, the plate having a first surface and a threaded portion having a thread pitch. A channel member has an outer edge coupled to the second end of the body, wherein the channel member defines a recess with an open side opposite the first surface of the plate. A stop member is disposed within the recess of the channel member, the stop member having a first height. A sealing member is coupled to the stop member, and the sealing member has a second height greater than the first height of the stop member.
Abstract:
A lubrication system for a fan drive gear system of a turbofan engine includes an auxiliary pump for communicating lubricant to bearings of a gear system. A deaerator is disposed between a lubricant source and the auxiliary pump for separating gases is contained within the lubricant. The deaerator includes a vane section for inducing a radial flow in the lubricant for separating gas from the lubricant. A gas turbine engine and method are also disclosed.
Abstract:
An engine oil system according to the disclosure comprises an oil pump connected to an oil sump, an oil cooler connected to the oil pump and an oil filter. The oil filter is connected to an engine. The engine oil system further comprises a first by-pass conduit connected to the oil pump and which is arranged to be connected to a component of the engine oil system other than the oil cooler. The first by-pass conduit comprises a first by-pass valve, wherein, in a first mode, the first by-pass valve is in an open state allowing oil to by-pass the oil cooler, and wherein, in a second mode, the first by-pass valve is in a closed state directing the oil through the oil cooler. The disclosure also relates to a vehicle comprising an engine oil system.
Abstract:
An oil deterioration suppressing apparatus for an internal combustion engine comprises a first oil filter and a second oil filter, wherein the first oil filter comprises a first filter member for filtering oil from an oil pan in which oil is stored, and the second oil filter comprises a second filter member for filtering oil from the oil pan, and wherein the second filter member is made of a ceramic material and has a mean pore size smaller than the mean pore size of the first filter member.
Abstract:
A centrifuge able to discharge moisture through a separate moisture outlet by separating moisture from oil when spraying oil through a nozzle of a rotor, thereby removing moisture from oil without using a separate skimmer, and a purifier system including the same. The centrifuge includes a casing, a shat, a stand tube and a rotor. The casing has an oil inlet, an oil outlet, a moisture outlet and an air inlet. Moisture separated from oil sprayed through a nozzle of the rotor is discharged along with air out of the casing through the moisture outlet. An amount of air identical to the amount of the air discharged through the moisture outlet is introduced into the casing through the air inlet.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an oil deterioration suppressing apparatus for an internal combustion engine comprising an oil reservoir section for reserving oil, a filtering component and an adsorption component provided in an oil passage, and a supply device for supplying the oil in the oil reservoir section to a side upstream of the adsorption component and the filtering component. The filtering component is configured to remove unnecessary products from the oil, and the adsorption component is configured to be positioned upstream of the filtering component to adsorb a predetermined acid component in the oil. Since the apparatus can remove a predetermined acid component in the oil from the oil in the adsorption component, it is possible to suppress generation of the sludge in the filtering component, thereby suppressing the oil deterioration appropriately.
Abstract:
An oil deterioration prevention device is provided that can prevent an increase in pressure loss by reducing oilflow resistance. The oil deterioration prevention device may include a filtering unit with a filter element that filters oil, and a deterioration prevention unit having a powdery deterioration prevention agent that prevents deterioration of oil, wherein out of oil fed from an oil containing unit, oil filtered by the filtering unit is fed to a part to be lubricated, and oil that is prevented from being deteriorated by the deterioration prevention unit is returned to the oil containing unit or sent to the part to be lubricated.
Abstract:
A device for monitoring the sealing state of a casing (2) of a transmission box (1) of a rotorcraft. An open airflow circuit (7) fitted with a suction generator member (10) is connected to a vent (5) of the casing (2). Regulator means (12) maintain stable suction in the airflow circuit (7) relative to a setpoint threshold (S), the regulator means being controlled in response to a pressure gauge (13) for measuring the suction generated inside the airflow circuit (7). The device is used on the ground to detect a source of leakage in the casing (2) and in flight to retain lubricant inside the casing (2) in the event of there being a source of leakage.
