Abstract: A refiner device for refining of a liquid, wherein the refiner device includes a housing provided with a liquid inlet for unrefined oil or fuel, a liquid outlet for refined oil or fuel, an air inlet for supplying a flow of air into the housing, and an air outlet for discharging air and contaminants removed from the liquid. The refiner device further includes a liquid receiving plate arranged inside the housing, the refiner device arranged such that when liquid has passed through the liquid inlet during operation of the device, the liquid is contacted with an upper surface of the liquid receiving plate before it reaches the liquid outlet, and at least one heating element arranged to directly or indirectly heat the liquid while the liquid is in contact with the liquid receiving plate. The refiner device further includes a hollow air-guiding member arranged at the liquid receiving plate.

Abstract: A transmission filter includes two outlets. One outlet, adapted to feed an engine-driven pump, protrudes diagonally from the front of the filter. The first outlet is sealed to the inlet of the engine-driven pump by a radial seal. The second outlet is arranged in a rear extension and is sealed to the inlet of an electric pump by a compression seal. The differing types of seals and relative orientations of the outlets make the assembly less sensitive to dimension variation due to production and assembly tolerances. The relative locations of the outlets also mitigate any flow interactions between the pumps when both operate simultaneously.

Abstract: An arrangement and method for determining the service interval of a fluid filter includes a filter and a pump driven by an electric motor. A control module calculates pressure drop across the filter by way of voltage, current, and/or PWM provided to the electric motor. The control module monitors the rate of change of the pressure drop across the filter over the life of the filter. The volume flow rate of the fluid may or may not be held constant. If an abrupt or sudden characteristic change in the pressure drop across the filter occurs, or if the pressure drop across the filter exceeds a threshold amount, the arrangement and method provides a notification that either the filter needs to be replaced or serviced, or that it is probable that a mechanical condition has developed, depending upon the characteristics of the change in pressure drop across the filter.

Abstract: Magnetic chip detectors and associated for detecting metallic chips in engine fluid of an engine are provided. A magnetic chip detector includes first and second magnetic chip capture zones. The first magnetic chip capture zone includes a first electrically conductive terminal spaced apart from a second electrically conductive terminal to define a first chip-receiving gap therebetween. The second magnetic chip capture zone includes a third electrically conductive terminal and either the second electrically conductive terminal or a fourth electrically conductive terminal to define a second chip-receiving gap therebetween. The magnetic chip detector includes an electric circuit including both the first chip-receiving gap and the second chip-receiving gap. The electric circuit provides an output indicative of a chip detection by one or both of the first magnetic chip capture zone and the second magnetic capture zone.

Abstract: A submersible well pump is driven by an electrical motor. A thrust bearing module between the pump and the motor has a base secured to and extending downward from a housing. The base has a motor end connector and an axial bore in fluid communication with lubricant in the motor. A shaft extends through the bore and into the housing. A thrust bearing assembly has a lower end at an upper end of the base. A lubricant pump mounted in the bore and coupled to the shaft pumps lubricant upward into the chamber. A passage has an inlet port in the chamber and an outlet port within the bore for returning lubricant pumped by the lubricant pump. The passage extends internally through the base and has a number of turns encircling the bore.

Abstract: An oil filter layout structure for an internal combustion engine for a motorcycle. An exhaust pipe connected to an exhaust port extends rearwardly beneath the internal combustion engine along a longitudinal direction of the motorcycle. An oil pan is disposed below the internal combustion engine, the oil pan having one of left and right side walls spaced along a transverse direction of the motorcycle. The one side wall is inclined downwardly toward a center of the motorcycle. The exhaust pipe is disposed closely to the side wall. An oil filter is mounted on the internal combustion engine and disposed below the internal combustion engine in overlapping relation to the oil pan as viewed in side elevation, near the other of the left and right side walls of the oil pan.
