Abstract:
When the fluid flow output of a synthetically commutated hydraulic pump is adapted to a given fluid flow demand, pulsations in the fluid output flow of the synthetically commutated hydraulic pump can occur. To avoid such pressure pulsations, it is suggested, to use a set of pre-calculated actuation patterns for actuating the electrically commutated valves of the synthetically commutated hydraulic pump.
Abstract:
A pump controller and pump controlling method for dispensing a precise amount of low viscosity fluid are provided in which the problems of double dispenses and stuttered dispenses are avoided. In particular, the timing of the valves and motors in the pumping apparatus are adjusted to avoid these problems.
Abstract:
A metering system for controlling the flow of a fluid is disclosed. The metering system comprises a metering device, two input valves that actively control flow of fluid into the metering device, and two output valves that actively control flow of fluid from the metering device. The input and output valves are selectively opened and closed to cause metered amounts of fluid to be dispensed from the metering device through the output valves.
Abstract:
There is disclosed herein a pump check valve test system embodied in a pump control system which control pump speed based upon actual pressure and upon actual pump speed and desired flow rate. The check valve test system disables the portion of the control system which controls pump speed based upon desired flow rate during the test. The test is comprised of timing the time it takes the pump to rotate through the portion of each cycle wherein the check valve is supposed to close and comparing this time to a known value.
Abstract:
A processing chamber is connected to a lock chamber. For evacuating the lock chamber and/or the processing chamber a vacuum pump system is provided. The latter comprises a vacuum pump equipment having at least one vacuum pump. Further, the vacuum pump system comprises a valve device for connection to the lock chamber as well as a controller. For noise reduction, a cyclically occurring operating parameter is determined by means of the controller. From said parameter it is determined at which point in time the valve is opened such that temporally before the opening of the valve the rotational speed of at least one of the vacuum pumps can be reduced. This results in a considerable noise reduction at continuing good pump-out times.
Abstract:
A method for a system having a plurality of primary fluid sources and a fluid output with a common pump includes halting pumping of a first fluid, isolating the common pump from the fluid output and the primary fluid sources, connecting an inlet of the common pump to a solvent source and an outlet of the common pump to a waste fluid dump, actuating the common pump first in a pumping mode, then in a recirculation mode, and then in a flush mode, connecting an inlet of the common pump to a second primary fluid source, and an outlet of the common pump to the output line, and starting pumping mode pumping of a second fluid from the second primary fluid source through the output line.
Abstract:
A spray system has a pump with a double-action reciprocating plunger balanced to receive equal up-stroke and down-stroke assist from a pre-pressurized supply. The reciprocating plunger has identical working surface area on opposite first and second axial faces. A pumping system has a double-action reciprocating plunger with upward- and downward-facing spacers. The plunger travels axially within a proportioning cylinder with first inlet and outlet ports at a first axial end, and second inlet and outlet ports at an opposite second axial end. When the plunger is at its top-most position, the upward-facing plunger occludes the first inlet and outlet ports without blocking flow. When the plunger is at its bottom-most position, the downward-facing plunger occludes the second inlet and outlet ports without blocking flow.
Abstract:
A fluid working machine (1) has several working chambers (5) of cyclically changing volume. For pumping hydraulic fluid, the inlet and outlet valves (8, 9) are electrically actuated. The timing of the actuation of said electrically actuated valves (8, 9) is varied depending on the fluid flow demand.
