Abstract: A rotatable electrical connector can include a base housing having a bottom surface, a top housing that is rotatably engaged with the base housing, and a plurality of contact pads that are arranged radially within the base housing. The contact pads each have a top surface and a bottom surface. A plurality of signal pins are individually associated with the plurality of contact pads; and each of the signal pins correspondingly project outwardly from the bottom surface of an associated contact pad and outwardly from the bottom surface of the base housing. A center ground pad, having a top surface and a bottom surface, is provided within the base housing. A ground pin projects outwardly from the bottom surface of the center ground pad and outwardly from the bottom surface of the base housing. A plurality of conductors is arranged radially within the top housing. The conductors individually correspond to the plurality of contact pads within the base housing. Each of the conductors has (i) a bottom surface that is capable of being in rotatable contact with the top surface of each of the contact pads and (ii) a top surface that projects outwardly from the top housing. A ground conductor is centrally located within the top housing and is surrounded by the plurality of conductors. The ground conductor has a bottom surface that is in rotatable contact with the top surface of the center ground pad in the base housing, and a top surface that projects outwardly from the top housing.

Abstract: A hermetically sealed feedthrough subassembly attachable to an active implantable medical device includes a first conductive leadwire extending from a first end to a second end, the first conductive leadwire first end disposed past a device side of an insulator body. A feedthrough filter capacitor is disposed on the device side. A second conductive leadwire is disposed on the device side having a second conductive leadwire first end at least partially disposed within a first passageway of the feedthrough filter capacitor and having a second conductive leadwire second end disposed past the feedthrough filter capacitor configured to be connectable to AIMD internal electronics. The second conductive leadwire first end is at, near or adjacent to the first conductive leadwire first end. A first electrically conductive material forms a three-way electrical connection electrically connecting the second conductive leadwire first end, the first conductive leadwire first end and a capacitor internal metallization.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a use-limiting connector for limiting use of an electrical tool. The use-limiting connector includes an electrical circuit, a plunger, movable between a first position and a second position, and a biasing member, configured to urge the plunger into the first position and configured to incrementally uncoil into respective torsional states as the plunger moves between the first position and the second position. With the plunger in the first position and the biasing member in a first one of the torsional states, the biasing member closes the electrical circuit. As the plunger moves from the first position to the second position, the plunger moves the biasing member to open the electrical circuit.

Abstract: A medical cable connector of a medical cable receives a medical lead while an electrical receptacle within the medical cable connector is placed into a distal position relative to an outer body of the medical cable connector. The electrical receptacle is retracted to a proximal position once insertion of the medical lead into the medical cable connector is completed. The electrical receptacle may be mounted to an inner body which moves relative to the outer body. A biasing member may be present to bias the inner body to a particular position. A slider may be present to provide a clinician with a surface to touch when applying force to position the electrical receptacle in the distal position for insertion of the medical lead. Various other features may be present to facilitate insertion of the medical lead and/or to maintain the position of the electrical receptacle relative to the outer body.

Abstract: In one embodiment, the present invention is directed to a compact connector including a light tip connector including a light tip cable connected thereto, the light tip connector including a receiving cavity including side walls and a bottom wall, guide channels formed in the side walls of the receiving cavity, a locking pin at a medial end of the guide channel and one or more light tip electrodes positioned on a bottom wall of the receiving cavity. In further embodiments of the present invention, a BTE connector includes a latch adapted to engage the locking pin to hold the BTE connector in the receiving cavity when the BTE connector is attached to the light tip connector. In a further embodiment, the compact connector includes a plurality of pogo pin electrodes arranged to contact the light tip electrodes when the BTE connector is attached to the light tip connector.

The first connector assembly includes a first housing, an elongated coupling member, and first electrical contacts distributed around the coupling member. The second connector assembly includes a second housing, second electrical contacts, and a retention member. The second housing has a coupling member receptacle and a retention member receptacle. The coupling member receptacle is shaped to accommodate a distal portion of the coupling member. The retention member is partially accommodated by the retention member receptacle and movable between an insertion configuration accommodating coupling of the first and second connector assemblies and a retention configuration retaining the coupling member to prevent inadvertent uncoupling of the electrical connector.
