Abstract:
The present invention comprises a method and apparatus for e-mail communications with members of a group of members. In one or more embodiments, a server computer system determines whether a sender of an incoming e-mail message addressed to a recipient member of the group is a member of the group. If the sender is a member of the group, the server computer system replaces the senders existing e-mail address in the incoming e-mail message with a created e-mail address created by the server computer system for the sender.
Abstract:
A computer-implemented system and method for efficient voice transcription is provided. A verbal message is processed by splitting the verbal message into segments and generating text for each of the segments via automated speech recognition. A confidence score is assigned to each text segment. The text segments are provided to workbenches, in order, staring with the text segment having a lowest confidence score. For at least one text segment provided to the workbench, one of edits to the text segment and manually transcribed text to replace the text segment are received. A threshold is applied to a time for performing the message processing and upon satisfaction of the threshold, the message processing is terminated. A text message is generated for the verbal message based on one of the generated text segment, manual transcription, or edited text segment for each of the text segments in that verbal message.
Abstract:
A method and system for transcription of spoken language into continuous text for a user comprising the steps of inputting spoken language of at least one user or of a communication partner of the at least one user into a mobile device of the respective user, wherein the input spoken language of the user is transported within a corresponding stream of voice over IP data packets to a transcription server; transforming the spoken language transported within the respective stream of voice over IP data packets into continuous text by means of a speech recognition algorithm run by said transcription server, wherein said speech recognition algorithm is selected depending on a natural language or dialect spoken in the area of the current position of said mobile device; and outputting said transformed continuous text forwarded by said transcription server to said mobile device of the respective user or to a user terminal of the respective user in real time.
Abstract:
A method and electronic device for extracting incoming/outgoing information and managing contacts are provided. The method includes determining whether a communicating electronic device which has been or is in communication with the electronic device is included as a contact in a first contact list; extracting incoming/outgoing information based on at least one of metadata and contents of the communication with the communicating electronic device when the communicating electronic device is not included as a contact in the first contact list; and displaying the extracted incoming/outgoing information on a touchscreen of the electronic device.
Abstract:
A method for accessing offline voicemail messages within a mobile messaging application may be provided. First, a voice mail message may be received and the voicemail message may be transcribed to text. Next, the voicemail message and the text transcription may be stored. The recipient may then be presented with a list of voicemail messages and the voicemail message may be retrieved in response to the recipient. The recipient may read or listen to the voicemail message or both. The recipient may also annotate the voicemail message.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a communication device including a first communication part, a calling processing part, and a second communication part. The first communication part generates a response by a virtual communication party to a user's input and outputs the response from an output unit to realize first communication. The calling processing part controls a communication unit and performs calling processing on a communication device of a real communication party to call the real communication party when the first communication is realized by the first communication part. The second communication part controls the communication unit to supply the user's input accepted by the input unit to the communication device of the real communication party, acquires a response to the user's input from the communication device of the real communication party, and outputs the response to the output unit to realize second communication.

Abstract:
A method and system are provided for forwarding telephone calls, facsimile transmissions and electronic messages to a single forwarding telephone number. The telephone calls, fax transmissions and electronic messages are first forwarded to a central forwarding repository by the forwarding party where the fax transmissions, and messages are converted to audio formats. Forwarded telephone calls and audio formatted versions of the fax transmissions and electronic messages are then forwarded directly to a designated forwarding number. If the forwarding party answers at the forwarding number, she will receive forwarded calls, and the audio formatted versions of fax transmissions and electronic messages will be played to her over her telephone. If the forwarding party does not answer the forwarded call, she subsequently may retrieve saved telephone calls, saved telephone messages and saved audio versions of fax transmissions and electronic messages from the central forwarding repository.
Abstract:
Provided are a system and method of providing a voice-message call service. A mobile device that performs a call with an external mobile device comprises a control unit configured to obtain text, the text converted from voice data that is exchanged between the mobile device and the external mobile device, during the call between the mobile device and the external mobile device, and obtain input text input to the mobile device and provided text that is received from the external mobile device; and a display unit configured to arrange the text, the input text, and the provided text and display the arranged text, input text, and provided text on a screen of the device, during the call between the mobile device and the external mobile device.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for retrieving and providing voice mail messages from a server are described. In accordance with the invention voice mail messages may be retrieved via requests made via a set top box. Voice mail messages are retrieved in response to the request from a voice mail server which is also accessible via the telephone network. Retrieved voice mail is transcoded and included in a video on demand (VOD) file. Text, call ID information and/or other information as, e.g., an automatically generated transcript of the voice mail message, may be included in the VOD file. The VOD file is supplied to a VOD server which provides the file including the message to the set top box for display. A user can view the messages and switch from viewing one message to the next by using video play back commands.
