Abstract:
A hardware, firmware, and/or software facility (“facility”) for providing information relevant to rendered documents is described. In some embodiments, the facility identifies multiple versions of an electronic document corresponding to a rendered document captured by a capture device. The facility may then provide a person utilizing the capture device with various ways to interact with one or more versions of the electronic document. In some embodiments, the facility determines that use of a rendered document is restricted, such as by copyright, to some degree. The facility may then offer the person the option to obtain unrestricted use of the rendered document. If the person accepts, the person obtains the right to store captures of the rendered document. If the person declines, the facility automatically discards captures of the rendered document. In some embodiments, the facility may automatically purchase rights to restricted-use rendered documents based upon the person's predefined criteria.

A method and apparatus for automatically categorizing images in a digital camera is provided. In one aspect, image data is captured by a digital camera. Image data analysis is performed on the captured image data by the digital camera to automatically generate a category tag to which the captured image data may relate. The generated category tag is stored in association with the captured image data for categorizing the captured image data.

The content acquiring unit acquires information of a table of contents of the document data from the file. The index image generating unit generates an index image depicting the table of contents of the file based on the information of the table of contents. A computer-implemented image composition method and apparatus, wherein, after a user selects a base image from a plurality of sequential images, and specifies an area to be modified, the content of the specified area in the base image is replaced with the content of a corresponding area in the remaining images one by one, and the base image after the replacement is output for a user's previewing and determination. It is possible to improve the quality of the images sequentially captured by applying the present disclosure.

A mobile device is configured to receive requests for panoramas and related supplemental panoramic data from a user. If the user elects to view supplemental panoramic data, the mobile device retrieves the supplemental panoramic data from a datasource server, and presents the at least one supplemental panoramic data together with the requested panorama to the user. In some embodiments, the supplemental panoramic data is associated with placement data from the datasource server. Examples of supplemental panoramic data include temporal data, climatic data, geographical data, marketing data, announcement data and contact data.

The first device includes data output, image file generation, and transfer processing units. The second device includes a specification data generation unit. The data output unit outputs combined miniaturized image data. The combined miniaturized image data shows combined miniaturized images. The miniaturized images correspond to the independent images. Each miniaturized image has a smaller data volume than the independent image. The specification data generation unit generates transfer subject specification data from the combined miniaturized image data. The transfer subject specification data specifies data corresponding to a transfer subject independent image. The image file generation unit generates a transfer image file storing the transfer subject image data. The transfer processing unit transfers the transfer image file to the second device.

A method and system to determine validity of a printed document is provided. An example system comprises a validation module and an alert module. The validation module may be configured to detect, using a scanning device, a document identification associated with a printed document and determine, based on the document identification, a state of the electronic document The alert module may be configured to trigger an alert, based on the determined state of the electronic document.
