Abstract:
Apparatus for coating selected portions of the troughs of a corrugated pipe within an adhesive includes a support disposed within the pipe with a reservoir containing the adhesive disposed on the support. A pump, including a spout, is utilized for supplying the adhesive from the reservoir to a trough of the pipe. A rotatable applicator is supported on the support and contacts the trough of the pipe. The applicator itself is sized so as to fit within the trough, and contacts the adhesive in the trough and spreads the adhesive in the trough upon rotation. A trough shield, supported by the support and disposed in the path of rotation of the applicator, is utilized to prevent the applicator from contacting selected portions of the trough. A locator head is also disposed on the support and provides a way for aligning the spout, the applicator, and the trough shield with the trough.
Abstract:
A sealing agent injecting machine which comprises: a base having wheels, a driving system of said wheels installed in said base, a vessel containing sealing agent, connected with a nozzle and mounted on the base, and a pressure apparatus putting pressure into said vessel, is provided in the present invention. Sealing agent is injected into joint of covering materials such as floor covering by using said machine and said machine can rightly follow the joint by providing differential gear in the driving system.
Abstract:
An apparatus for painting the inner surface of the welded side seam of a can body with its top and bottom open. The apparatus uses an applicator roll having an annular projection with an acute vertical angle formed in the middle and both edges of the outer periphery.
Abstract:
The invention contemplates an elongate extension nozzle attachment for a gas torch whereby flame-spraying of coating-powder material may be applied with precision to the bore of a workpiece. The attachment is detachably securable to conventional torch and/or gas-distributor structure and provides independent flows of (a) carrier gas and powder and (b) combustible-gas mixture to a nozzle which is removably fitted to the discharge end. Provision is made for optional use of one or more flame-shaping discharges of air, inert gas or the like at the discharge end, using a further independent supply system within the attachment.
Abstract:
A sealant nozzle for applying sealant to the countersink surface of a drilled countersunk hole, the nozzle configuration including a circumferential groove on a conical surface for depositing the sealant in a confined region within the countersink, and a pilot portion for insertion into a bore associated with the countersink.
Abstract:
An apparatus for applying a protective coating to the inside of the welded seam of cans. When fabricating cans which are provided at their inner surface with a protective coating it is necessary, following the welding operation, to apply to the region of the welding seam the then missing part of the protective coating. Prior techniques were unable to achieve any optimum application of the seam-coating which would reliably cover the welded seam. If the fabricated cans are particularly intended for use for canned foods this then is dangerous to the health of the user. With the apparatus of the invention the protective coating is applied by means of a driven applicator roll to the welded seam. By suitably selecting the outer or jacket surface of the roll and a scraper as well as the rotational speed of the roll it is possible to optimize application of the protective coating.
Abstract:
An apparatus is provided for applying liquid to solid surfaces to which access may be limited or restricted. Liquid is continuously fed to an applicator where the liquid clings to a supporting surface to form a bead defining an outwardly exposed meniscus protruding beyond the applicator. The applicator is moved along the surface in a proximate relationship thereto which brings the protruding meniscus into contact with the surface to wipe liquid onto the surface, the applicator all the while being spaced a slight but noncritical distance from the surface. A portion of the liquid wiped onto the surface is immediately aspirated from the surface by suction applied through the applicator to leave on the surface a deposit of liquid controlled in quantity by the degree of aspiration accompanying the wiping of liquid onto the surface. The continuous aspiration of liquid from the liquid bead forming the protruding meniscus on the applicator prevents dripping of liquid from the applicator and functions in conjunction with continuous feeding of liquid to the meniscus to provide a continuous circulation of liquid on the applicator, even when it is awaiting usage, with no fouling of the applicator and no stagnation or deterioration of the liquid on the applicator.
Abstract:
A tool for forming an abradable coating in an aircraft turbine engine module, this module having an annular stator casing and a central rotor which can move inside the casing about an axis, wherein it has a first portion which is attached to the rotor, a second portion which includes at least one first trans-verse arm extending radially outwards and carrying spreading rollers, and a flywheel centered on the axis and configured to be rotated manually by an operator in order to rotate the tool and the rotor within the casing, so that the spreading rollers are capable of spreading a resin in order to form the coating.
