    Abstract: An electromagnetic wave detection apparatus comprises a first image formation unit, a travel unit 18, a second image formation unit, and a first detector. The travel unit 18 includes a plurality of pixels px arranged along a reference surface. The electromagnetic wave detection apparatus has at least one of: an arrangement in which respective extension surfaces of the reference surface and a detection surface of the first detector intersect each other and a main axis of the second image formation unit intersects the reference surface and the detection surface of the first detector; and an arrangement in which respective extension surfaces of the reference surface and an object surface of the first image formation unit whose spacing to the travel unit is set and whose image surface is the reference surface intersect each other and a main axis of the first image formation unit intersects the reference surface.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a method for capturing images that makes it possible to correct at least partially a memory effect of sensitive elements of a matrix used to capture the images. A corrected image is formed by subtracting, from a captured new raw image, a part of a prior raw image that was captured before the new raw image. The method is particularly suitable for sensitive elements with a first-order transfer function with respect to time, such as bolometers or microbolometers. Correction of the memory effect makes it possible to improve the transfer function and/or reduce a tail effect that is present in the images when scene elements move.

    Abstract: A computer numerically controlled machine may include a source of electromagnetic energy. A beam of electromagnetic energy from the source may be delivered to a destination such as, for example, a material positioned in a working area of the computer numerically controlled machine. The beam of electromagnetic energy may be susceptible to interferences while traveling from the source to the destination. The computer numerically controlled machine may include a beam detector configured detect an interference of the beam by measuring a power of the beam of electromagnetic energy at a location between the source and the destination. An interference of the beam may be detected if the power of the beam is less than a threshold value. A controller at the computer numerically controlled machine may perform one or more actions in response to the beam detector detecting the interference of the beam of electromagnetic energy.

    Abstract: A contactless temperature sensor for measuring the temperature of a workpiece is disclosed. The contactless temperature sensor uses a cushion of gas to separate the bottom surface of the workpiece from the top surface of the temperature sensor. The contactless temperature sensor includes a puck having a conduit therethrough. The conduit has a first portion having a first diameter, and a second portion having a second, narrower diameter. A gas tube rests in the first portion of the conduit, disposed proximate the bottom surface of the puck. Since the puck is not affixed to the gas tube, angular compliance may be achieved between the workpiece and the puck. Gas passes through the second portion and to the top surface of the puck. This gas provides a cushion between the top surface of the puck and the underside of the workpiece and conducts heat from the workpiece to the puck.

    Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatuses for providing electromagnetic radiation sensing using sequential beam splitting. The apparatuses can include a micro-mirror chip having a plurality of light reflecting surfaces, an image sensor having an imaging surface, and a beamsplitter unit located between the micro-mirror chip and the image sensor. The beamsplitter unit includes a plurality of beamsplitters aligned along a horizontal axis that is parallel to the micro-mirror chip and the imaging surface. The beamsplitters implement the sequential beam splitting. Because of the structure of the beamsplitter unit, the height of the arrangement of the micro-mirror chip, the beamsplitter unit, and the image sensor is reduced such that the arrangement can fit within a mobile device. Within a mobile device, the apparatuses can be utilized for human detection, fire detection, gas detection, temperature measurements, environmental monitoring, energy saving, behavior analysis, surveillance, information gathering and for human-machine interfaces.

    Abstract: One or more temperature measuring devices are described that comprise; thermal imaging cameras capable of detection and provision of an exact location of at least one created dynamic image scanned by and triangulated with at least two thermal imaging cameras, and a gate that provides a constrained targeted pathway through which at least one person must travel so that dynamic thermal data of the person is captured as the person is moving through the gate and wherein thermal imaging cameras are geometrically arranged in positions such that the thermal imaging cameras field of view exist on or within the gate and wherein the person is scanned and provides targeted dynamic thermal data that is converted into one or more temperature readings that measure and transmit the temperature readings from one or more photodetectors that sense thermal radiation naturally emitted by people passing through.
