    Abstract: A filter assembly comprises a housing defining an internal volume and comprising an inlet for receiving fuel, a first outlet to allow filtered fuel to exit the internal volume, and a second outlet to allow water separated from the fuel to exit the internal volume. A filter element is disposed within the internal volume for filtering the fuel to provide the filtered fuel and separate the water from the fuel. An outlet assembly is fluidly coupled to the first and second outlets and comprises a first flow path structured to communicate the filtered fuel to the first outlet, and a second flow path fluidly coupled to the internal volume of the housing and to the water reservoir so as to receive the water from the internal volume and communicate the water to the water reservoir. The second flow path is fluidly isolated from the first flow path.

    Abstract: Various embodiments of two-stage filter assemblies are provided. A filter element of the filter assembly includes a first endplate that is configured to facilitate assembly of the filter element into a filter housing assembly. The first endplate includes a flange that extends radially away from a media pack of the filter and into the channel formed between a lid and a housing of a filter housing assembly. A second endplate of the filter element is coupled to a media pack second end of the media pack. The filter element also includes a first seal member that is coupled to the second endplate. The first endplate and the filter housing assembly are structured to ensure that the filter element is sealingly engaged with the housing when (i) the flange is engaged with the lid and (ii) the lid is fully installed onto the housing.

    Abstract: A water drain valve system structured to drain water from a fuel-water separator. The system includes a collection vessel structured to temporarily store water, a liquid level sensor structured to monitor a level of the temporarily stored water, a drainage port extending radially from the collection vessel and having a port inlet and a port outlet, and a valve assembly. The port inlet receives water to be drained from the collection vessel, the water flowing through the drainage port and exiting through the port outlet. The valve assembly is movable between a closed position in which the port outlet is closed, and an open position, in which the port outlet is open, to selectively allow water to be drained from the collection vessel. The valve assembly includes a solenoid coupled to a seal member, the seal member closing the port outlet in the closed position of the valve assembly.

    Abstract: A filter cartridge comprises a filter housing having a filter element disposed therewithin that comprises a filter media, and an end cap coupled to a top end of the filter media. The top end is positionable proximate to a filter head. A filter element outlet conduit extends from an inner rim of the end cap towards the filter head and is extendable into a filter head outlet. An end cap ledge extends radially outwards from an outer periphery of the end cap. A first sealing member is disposed at least partially on the end cap ledge and forms an axial seal with the filter head, and a second sealing member is disposed around the filter element outlet conduit on a radially outward surface thereof, and forms a radial seal with a radially inward surface of the filter head outlet conduit when the filter head is coupled to the filter cartridge.
