Abstract:
A system for tracking after point of sale related sales for peripherals which includes an access module for accessing a customer computer system which includes a supplier specific unique identifier, a decision module, and an offer module. The decision module determines whether the customer computer system includes a supplier specific unique identifier. The offer module presents a factory installed offer if the customer computer system includes a supplier specific unique identifier and presents a non supplier offer if the customer computer system does not include a supplier specific unique identifier.
Abstract:
Polyester carpets of poly(trimethylene terephthalate) are disclosed which have excellent stain-resistance, texture retention and resistance to crushing. The bulked continuous filament yarn used to make the carpets and the process for making the yarns are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A method for testing of animals being milked, the system including a plurality of milk meters. A portable remote control device is provided to input data to the milk meters, receive and store data from the milk meters and display at least selected data. The remote control device is pre-loaded with animal related data and information relative to animals being milked is transmitted from the remote control device to the milk meters. Transmission of information from the milk meter as a consequence of an animal being milked is transmitted to the remote control device to enable updating of a record relevant to the animal being or having been milked. The remote control device thus provides a single interface with all milk meters for the inputting and receiving of data.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for determining the thickness of a layer of a first liquid above an interface formed by the first liquid and the second liquid underlying the first liquid in a subterranean formation. The apparatus includes an elongated metal rod having a sharpened distal end. An electrode is provided adjacent the sharpened distal end to indicate when the interface formed by the two liquids has been reached. A lengthwise running elongated slot is provided in the outer surface of the body of the metal rod and contains an indicator strip. The indicator strip is adapted to undergo a color change upon contact with the first liquid. By measuring the length of the indicator strip which has undergone a color change, the thickness of the layer of the first liquid can be determined.
Abstract:
A refrigeration controller within a retail refrigeration cabinet controls the temperature (502) so that it approaches the maximum allowable temperature by using the most efficient fan speed for loading and time of day (507) but is varied by customer presence (505) to adhere to an algorithm reducing the noise (506) created by such machines while still creating sufficient cooling to remain within the maximum temperature while providing acceptable power economy.
Abstract:
Apparatus are provided that includes a multi-function device that is configured to perform a plurality of functions relating to manipulating a document. The multi-function device can have a display configured to display interface tool for facilitating the customization of a function of the multi-function device. The interface tools allow a user to communicate with the multi-function device to enter information relating to the customized function. The custom application can be configured to be installed on the multi-function device, and the custom application is used to customize the multi-function device.
Abstract:
A method of absorption spectroscopy to determine a rapidly variable gas parameter. The method includes transmitting light from a synchronization light source to a synchronization detector. The transmitted light is periodically interrupted by a moving mechanical part between the synchronization light source and synchronization detector. The output from the synchronization detector is used to generate a repeating time signal having variable phase delay. This signal is used to control the timing of laser spectroscopy wavelength scans. Multiple spectroscopic scans may be repeated at multiple selected time signal phase delay and the results averaged for each phase. Apparatus for implementing the above methods are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A method of calibrating an absorption spectroscopy measurement wherein the calibration method includes projecting laser light through a sample of a first quantity of a gas of interest and a second irrelevant quantity of a spectroscopically identical or similar gas (10). The first and second spectroscopic absorptions of the laser light are measured over specific first and second absorption lines. A functional relationship is determined between the first and second measured spectroscopic absorptions and two unknown variables. The function relationships may then be simultaneously solved to determine one or both unknown variables and thereby obtain a measurement relating to the first quantity of the gas of interest, calibrated for the second irrelevant quantity of gas.
Abstract:
A method for providing an out of box experience (OOBE) which includes providing an OOBE module and an OOBE variables file, providing OOBE options to the OOBE module via the OOBE variables file, customizing the out of box experience via the OOBE options in the OOBE variables file, and presenting the out of box experience via the OOBE module is disclosed.
Abstract:
