A transplanter(10) for transplanting a plug seedling(G) grown in each cell(14a) of a plug seedling tray(14) to a certain size to a transplanted seedling tray(15) or a pot comprising a plug seedling carrying means(12) for carrying the plug seedling tray(14), a transplanted seedling carrying means(13) spaced at a certain distance from the plug seedling carrying means(12) for carrying the transplanted seedling tray(15) or the pot, a seedling transfer mechanism(30) disposed across the plug seedling carrying means(12) and the transplanted seedling carrying means(13) for transferring the plug seedling from the position above the plug seedling tray(14) to the position above the transplanted seedling tray(15), the seedling transfer mechanism(30) including an endless chain or belt(35) passing above the plug seedling carrying means(12) and the transplanted seedling carrying means(13) and circulating in a plane made at a certain angle with respect to a horizontal plane, the endless chain or belt(35) being provided at its outer peripheral surface with receptacles(36) for containing plug seedlings(G) to be spaced at a predetermined distance with respect to each other, a seedling picking-out mechanism(50) for picking out the plug seedling(G) from the cell(14a) of the plug seedling tray(14) and introducing it into one of the receptacles(36) of the seedling transfer mechanism(30), and a seedling planting mechanism(90) for picking out the plug seedling(G) from the receptacle(36) and planting it in the cell(15a) of the transplanted seedling tray(15) or the pot. In a magneto-optic disk, a protective coating is applied to the magnetic recording layer made from a composite comprising minute particles of an inorganic compound, a lubricant and a radical-polymerizable resin. The surfaces of the minute particles of the first type are coated with a surface coating agent which has a lyophilic property with the radical-polymerized resin and this surface coating prevents the minute particles from forming aggregates in the protective coating. Then, the surface of the protective coating becomes smooth. In another type of protective coating, two types of the minute particles are included. The surfaces of the minute particles of the first type are coated with a surface coating agent, while those of the second type remain not coated. Thus, the minute particles of the first kind are not liable to form aggregates in the protective coating, whereas those of the other kind may form aggregates. Although the aggregates decrease the smoothness of the protective coating, they can enhance the amount of the lubricant which can be incorporated in the coating.

A floor surface blasting apparatus is used for removing rustproof coating (blasting ) on a tank bottom surface to inspect weld lines on the bottom surface of high-capacity fuel tank. The floor surface blasting apparatus comprises a work arm which has weld line detecting sensors for detecting a weld line at the tip end and also has a blast head incorporating a suction nozzle; a work carriage which has the work arm and magnet devices incorporating a magnetic substance and travels arbitrarily on the floor surface; a transfer carriage which has a blast device for supplying blasting material to the blast head and travels arbitrarily on the floor surface; and a control device which controls the blast head so that the blast head is positioned on a weld line in accordance with the detection signal from the weld line detecting sensors and the signal of a position detecting device for detecting the position of the blast head and also makes the transfer carriage follow the work carriage.

A high strength martensitic stainless steel having superior anti-fatigue characteristics when used in a corrosive or erosive environment. The steel has a proof strength of 80 to 110 kg/mm.sup.2 and a composition containing specified amounts of carbon, silicon, manganese, chromium, nickel, molybdenum, vanadium, and nitrogen, the balance being substantially iron and incidental inclusions. The contents of the additives are such that a nickel equivalent Nieq given by the following Formula (1) ranges between 10.5 and 12.9 wt. %:Nieq=[Ni]+[Mn]+0.5[Cr]+0.3 [Si]+[Mo] (1)where, [Ni], [Mn], [Cr], [Si], and [Mo], respectively represent the contents of Ni, Mn, Cr, Si, and Mo, respectively. The steel may also contain niobium or copper. The steel is produced by a process which includes a hot work and a subsequent cooling at a specific cooling rate to a specific temperature range.

There is provided a process for production of thin-film capacitors that includes a metal oxide thin-film forming step in which an organic dielectric starting material is fired to form a barium strontium titanate thin-film, wherein the firing atmosphere used is an oxygen-containing inert gas atmosphere, and the barium strontium titanate thin-film formed by the process has a larger capacity density than the capacity density of the barium strontium titanate thin-film fired in an oxygen atmosphere.

The thin film capacitor includes a nickel substrate with nickel (Ni) purity of 99.99 weight percent or above, and a dielectric layer and an electrode layer disposed in this order on the nickel substrate. The thin film capacitor is typically manufactured as follows. A precursor dielectric layer is formed on a nickel substrate with nickel purity of 99.99 weight percent or above, and is subjected to annealing to form a dielectric layer. The diffusion of impurities from the nickel substrate to the precursor dielectric layer during annealing is suppressed.
