    Abstract: A cutting device for cutting an objection such as a citrus fruit includes a cutting assembly and an outer casing about the cutting assembly. The casing is generally cylindrical having a central axis, and has open ends. The cutting blade assembly includes a first cutting blade extending radially outward from the central axis to a sidewall of the casing, the first cutting blade cutting the fruit in a manner so as to completely sever one portion thereof from another. The cutting assembly further includes a second cutting blade extending outwardly radially from the central axis toward the sidewall of the casing, but not reaching the sidewall, the second cutting blade cutting the object in a manner so as to partially sever one portion of the object from another. In use, the fruit is introduced into the cutting device at the first open end, is forced over the cutting assembly, and exits the cutting device at the second end. The invention also describes a scooping device for use on a fruit having a generally spherical shape with an outer peel and an inner edible portion. A bisected piece of fruit is subject to the action of a scooping device having a generally hemispherical shaped scooping member with a dome and a substantially circular edge which forms a cutting blade. The scooping device has a shaft extending outwardly from a point on the outer surface, so that rotation of the shaft causes rotation of the scooping member which can be used to remove the edible inner portion of the fruit.

    Abstract: The invention provides for a cutting device having a mounting member comprised of two cylindrical portions mounted on a base. The two cylindrical portions are arranged co-axially, and define between them a recess adapted to accommodate an article to be cut. Cutting blades are provided and comprise a first cutting blade of tubular shape mounted on a cylindrical portion of the mounting block and a flat blade mounted in a slot in one of the mounting blocks. A moving mechanism is provided to move the blades across the recess when an article is located therein, thereby removing and discarding the outer portions of the article. The invention further comprises a feed system for feeding the article into the recess of the cutting device. The feed system comprises a segmenting apparatus, a transport line between the segmenting apparatus and the recess of the cutting device, as well as propulsion means for moving the article from the transport line into the recess.

    Abstract: A gardening shears includes two handles, a first shear blade connected to one handle and providing a suspension arm portion, a linking rod connected to the other handle, a second shear blade coaxially pivoted to the first shear blade and the linking rod and providing an elongated slot, and a control unit including an arched guide member fixedly connected with its one end to the linking rod and a guide wheel pivotally connected to the suspension arm portion of the first shear blade with a guiding protrusion thereof inserted into the elongated slot of the second shear blade. Thus, when opening and closing the handles, the mating arrangement of the arched guide member, the guide wheel and the elongated slot of the second shear blade enables the first and second shear blade to implement the shearing action twice.

    Abstract: A pair of pruning shears includes a handle, a first blade, a second blade, and a controlling unit. The first blade is pivotally connected to an upper end of the handle. The second blade is pivotally connected to the first blade and has a second cutting edge and a second hilt. The second hilt is connected to a lower end of the second cutting edge and has an abutting surface and a series of sockets located opposite to the abutting surface. The controlling unit has a gear and a pushing member. The gear is mounted on handle and meshes with the sockets of the second hilt of the second blade. The pushing member pushes upon the abutting surface of the second hilt of the second blade. Thereby, the first and second blades cut with improved smoothness, and the overall structural strength of the pruning shears is enhanced.

    Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a halogen-free composition and conductors coated with the halogen-free composition. The halogen-free composition includes (A) from 70 wt % to 85 wt % of a polymeric component and (B) from 30 wt % to 15 wt % of a halogen-free flame retardant. The polymeric component (A) includes (i) a propylene homopolymer or a mini-random copolymer with greater than 40% crystallinity and (ii) an ethylene/α-olefin copolymer.
