Abstract: A handle for a medical device includes a distal portion extending longitudinally and including a distal channel extending therethrough, the distal end of the distal portion including a connector configured to connect to a proximal end of an endoscope, a central portion slidably connected to the distal portion, the central portion extending longitudinally. The handle also includes a central channel extending therethrough, the distal end of the central portion connected to a sheath, the central portion including an introducer port extending laterally therefrom so that an auxiliary tool inserted through the introducer port is directed through a lumen of the sheath. Further, the handle includes a proximal portion slidably connected to the central portion, the proximal portion extending longitudinally and including a proximal channel extending therethrough, the distal end of the proximal portion connected to a needle so that the needle is passed through the lumen.

Abstract: Polypectomy devices and methods for making and using polypectomy devices are disclosed. An example polypectomy device may include an elongate sheath having a proximal end region and a distal end region. A shaft may be slidably disposed within the sheath. A handle may be coupled to the proximal end region of the sheath. The handle may be designed to axially shift the shaft relative to the sheath. A snare may be coupled to the shaft. The snare may include a first region, a traction region, and a distal tip region. The first region may have a non-circular cross-sectional shape. The traction region may include a plurality of traction members. At a position between two adjacent traction members the snare may have a reduced cross-sectional area relative to the first region. The distal tip region may have a circular cross-sectional shape.

Abstract: Compositions, e.g., gels, useful for tissue resection procedures, medical devices comprising the compositions, and related methods of preparing the compositions are discussed. The composition may comprise gellan gum, two or more salts, and water. In some aspects, the composition may be prepared by combining gellan gum and water to form a pre-mixture, heating the pre-mixture, adding two or more salts to the heated pre-mixture to form a mixture, introducing the mixture into a reservoir, and allowing the mixture to form a gel inside the reservoir. The gel may have a continuous, three-dimensional structure, and have desired gel strength and viscosity. The composition may be biocompatible and injectable from the reservoir through a needle to the target site of a patient.

Abstract: A device for treating a tissue includes a capsule extending longitudinally from a proximal end to a distal end and including a channel extending therethrough, the capsule releasably coupled to a proximal portion of the device and clip arms, proximal ends of which are slidably received within the channel of the capsule so that the clip arms are movable between an open configuration, and a closed configuration. A core member is coupled to the clip arms, the core member including a proximal portion and a distal portion releasably connected to one another so that, when the core member is subjected to a predetermined load, the proximal and distal portions are separated from one another. An electrically conductive control member is connected to the core member, a proximal end of the connected member connected to a power source for delivering an electrical current to the clip arms.
