Abstract:
Systems and methods for shaping and filling offset bone voids during revision procedures of total knee replacements are disclosed. The systems disclosed herein generally include an intramedullary reamer, an offset driver, a cylindrical reaming tool, an offset reaming guide, and a conical reamer. An alternate embodiment of the system may also generally include an IM reamer, an offset driver, an offset broaching tool, and a second stage broaching tool. Yet another embodiment may generally include an elongate IM reamer, a cone reamer, a reamer guide shaft, a cone trial, a sizing template, a template guide, an offset lobe reamer, and offset lobe reamer retainer. Metaphyseal reconstruction devices and void filling cones can be used to fill the bone voids in conjunction with the systems and methods disclosed herein.
Abstract:
A distal femoral joint replacement system includes a femoral component having condylar articular surfaces, a stem extending from the femoral component, and a void filler for filling a bone void within a femur. The void filler includes a body and a plurality of legs extending from the body. The body has a sidewall defining an opening for receipt of the stem which extends along a length of the body and extends through the sidewall so as to form a side-slot in the sidewall that extends along an entire length of the sidewall. The plurality of legs each have a first end connected to the body and a second end remote from the body. The legs each have an outer surface that tapers between the first and second ends and is configured to register with a corresponding inner surface of a bone void when implanted in an end of the femur.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are a joint distractor for joint distraction and a method for utilizing the same in a joint distraction procedure. The joint distractor may include a first surface and a second surface. The first surface may contact a first bone of a joint and the second surface may contact a second bone of a joint. The first surface may be a flexible surface that is substantially parallel to the second surface in a first position and forms an arch in a second position to distract the first bone from the second bone. A method for distracting a joint may utilize the first and second surfaces of the joint distractor.
Abstract:
A varus-valgus alignment instrument includes a body having a bone contact surface for contacting a distal femur and an opening extending through the body and bone contact surface. The opening is sized to receive an elongate shaft therein. An alignment member is moveably attached to the body and has first and second openings therethrough. The first and second openings are sized to receive the elongate shaft and are interchangeably positioned in alignment with the opening of the body.
Abstract:
A knee prosthesis includes a femoral component, a tibial component, and a coupling component interconnecting the femoral component and the tibial component. The tibial component includes ball. The femoral component is configured to move relative to the tibial component. The coupling component defines an internal cavity including a first spherical end portion and a second spherical end portion. The internal cavity is dimensioned to receive the ball of the tibial component. The ball is repositioned between the first spherical end portion and the second spherical end portion of the internal cavity upon movement of the femoral component relative to the tibial component.
Abstract:
A joint prosthesis system includes a femoral component that has an articular side, a bone facing side, and medial and lateral condylar portions. The medial and lateral condylar portions at least partially define an intercondylar recess located therebetween and have a first concave surface extending in a mediolateral direction across the medial and lateral condylar portions. A first modular component has a second concave surface and is connectable to the femoral component such that, when the first modular component is connected to the femoral component, the first and second concave surfaces come together to form a transverse opening extending in the mediolateral direction. A first tibial assembly has a baseplate component and a head extending therefrom. The head defines an axle opening that extends therethrough. An axle is configured to be received within the transverse opening and axle opening so as to connect the tibial assembly to the femoral component.

Abstract:
A cutting guide for performing a bone osteotomy procedure is disclosed. The cutting guide includes a first arm having a first cutting guide surface formed therein, a second arm having a second cutting guide surface formed therein pivotably connected to the first arm and a distractor operatively connected to the first arm. The cutting guide is adapted to be affixed to the bone such that the first cutting guide surface is open to the second cutting guide surface. The first arm and second arm are rotatable with respect to each other such that manipulation of the distractor creates a force between the first arm and the second arm causing rotation of the first arm and second arm relative to each other. A method for using the cutting guide in a bone osteotomy procedure is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A bone void filling prosthesis, which includes a body and a plurality of legs. The body includes an aperture extending therethrough. The plurality of legs are each connected to the body. Each of the plurality of legs includes at least one selectively removable portion for adjusting a length of each of the plurality of legs.
