Abstract:
A beam structure for a paper, board or finishing machine is suited for use in all applications where, for instance, a doctor or a coating device or a measuring device needs to be supported on a cross-directional beam of a paper or board machine. The beam (50) has an inner and outer shell (52, 54) which are situated inside each other and which are supported to each other over some of their length, and that one shell is supported stationarily by its ends to the frame structures (62) of the said paper, board or finishing machine, and that one shell deflects when the beam is loaded while the other shell remains essentially straight.
Abstract:
It is possible to give ultrathin and uniform coating on a flexible web in scraping-off type coating. The distribution of pressure in a web width direction is adjusted by a pressure distribution adjusting device when an excess of coating liquid excessively applied is scraped off by a doctor blade by giving relative pressure to a coating surface of a web and the doctor blade after applying the coating liquid that is more excessive than the desired quantity of the coating liquid on the web by a precoating apparatus while making the web continuously travel.
Abstract:
A treatment equipment, which is intended to be installed in connection with a moving surface. The treatment equipment includes a frame and a blade holder formed from composite material as a single piece and connected to the frame. In addition, a blade is fitted to the blade holder, the bevelled edge belonging to which is arranged to be brought into contact with the moving surface by moving the blade holder. In the blade holder, there is also a separate backing blade, which is fitted at one edge into the blade holder, the other edge extending closer than the blade holder to the said bevelled edge.
Abstract:
On a mobile rest plane on which tiles are translated in a predetermined direction, the following operate: a matrix-bearing cylinder, mobile in rotation about an axis thereof, and at least a doctor predisposed to operate contactingly with an external surface of the cylinder. The apparatus comprises: a vertically-developing frame; a first slide constrained on the vertical frame and slidable vertically with respect thereto; the matrix-bearing cylinder being supported on the first slide, together with organs for supporting the matrix-bearing cylinder and organs for controlling rotation thereof about a rotation axis thereof; a second slide, with at least one doctor being supported thereon, together with organs for supporting the doctor and organs for controlling movements thereof, is constrained on the frame and can slide vertically with respect thereto.
Abstract:
An apparatus for one of direct and indirect application of a coating medium onto a traveling fiber material web includes at least one doctor element for application and/or metering of the coating medium. At least one doctor element is formed of a carbon fiber material.
Abstract:
An arrangement for dosing with a blade, in coating machines or similar, onto a running web of paper or cardboard carried by a roll in or with the arrangement. The blade is forced by means of a hold-down or several hold-down sections on the roll respectively the web. A transmitter transmits light, notably laser light. The blade features in the area between the contact line of the hold-down on it, and its contact line on the roll respectively the web, on its side away from the roll, at least one light-reflecting layer for reflection of the light ray directed by the transmitter at the layer. A receiver registers the position or angle of the ray reflected upon it by the light-reflecting layer of the blade. A controller is provided for controlling, dependent on the position signal of the receiver for the reflected light ray, the angular position of the blade, notably in its area between the contact line of the hold-down or the hold-down section and the roll.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a method for coating of a moving base, such as the face of a back-up roll, paper or board web, or equivalent, with a coating agent. In the method, a blade coater is employed in which a coating blade included in the blade coater and installed in a blade holder is loaded in the area between the blade holder and the tip of the coating blade toward the moving base by means of a loading member. The coating blade forms a substantially small angle in relation to the moving base. The coating quantity applied onto the moving base is regulated by adjusting the blade angle and/or the loading of the coating blade. The coating blade is loaded towards the moving base, in the area between said loading member and the tip of the coating blade. The coating blade is additionally loaded by a second loading member so that the loading produced by the second loading member prevents separation of the tip of the coating blade from the layer of coating agent formed on the moving base so as to prevent cavitation in the area of the tip of the coating blade. The invention also concerns a device that makes use of the method.
Abstract:
In a coating device, a doctor blade is bent S-shaped for application of its contact force by means of a pressure bar. An additional force of a profile correction device is exerted for profile correction by means of magnets. This additional force acts preferably opposite to the main contact force. This prevents the profile correction device from causing a change of the geometry of the doctor blade in the contact area of the spreading edge of the doctor blade.
Abstract:
Method and apparatus for applying a liquid film of controlled thickness to a paper web. The apparatus is in the form of a flexible blade coater having a flexible blade fixed at one end and bearing against a backing roll (with interposed web) at a free end. The blade has independent loading means, preferably pneumatic. An intermediate loading means applies a first load intermediate the fixed and free ends which serves primarily and substantially independently to establish blade geometry or tip slope. A second loading means positioned near the free end of the blade primarily and substantially independently establishes tip load for a given geometry established by the first loading means. The compound loading arrangement allows a wider range of finer control of coating film thickness.
Abstract:
An apparatus for controlling the tilt angle of a doctor blade (12) includes two support blocks (2) of a doctor blade supporting beam (7), a first actuator (3, 4) by which the supports (2) are movable about on their bearing points (1), a blade supporting beam (7) pivotally mounted between upper parts of the support blocks (2) having a doctor blade (12) attached to the beam, and a second actuator (11) by which the blade supporting beam (7) is movable about on its pivoting point (8) in order to control the tilt angle and loading of the blade (12). Between the support blocks (2), an axle (28, 41) is pivotally mounted which is arranged via a transfer apparatus to rotate essentially in the same way as the blade support beam (7), at least one guiding member (24, 42) is eccentrically attached to the axle (28, 42), and the first actuator (3, 45) is arranged to rest against the guiding member ( 24, 42), whereby the eccentricity of the guiding member (24, 42) causes the rotation of the supporting blocks about the bearing points (1), when the blade supporting beam (7) is rotated around the bearing point (8) with the help of the second actuator (11) whereby it is possible to maintain a constant tip angle during any changes in the blade loading.
