Abstract: A method of dispensing a metallic nanoparticle composition along a trajectory on a substrate is disclosed. The composition is dispensed from a nozzle through its outlet. The outlet is characterized by an outlet size. First, an initial pressure is applied to the composition in the nozzle to cause the composition to flow from the outlet. The nozzle is positioned at a height such that the composition does not flow onto the substrate. Second, the nozzle is lowered toward the substrate such that a fluid bridge forms between the outlet and the substrate and an adjusted pressure is applied to the composition in the nozzle. The adjusted pressure is lower than needed for the composition to continue to flow from the outlet. Third, the fluid is dispensed from the nozzle. A dispensing pressure is applied to the fluid while the nozzle is laterally displaced along the trajectory on the substrate.

Abstract: A method of depositing an extrudable substance onto a surface. The method comprises the step of delivering the extrudable substance from a cartridge to a flow-bypass assembly. Abstract: Aspects herein are directed to an article of apparel having a vent opening formed by overlapping the edges of a first panel and a second panel. A plurality of discrete overlay film structures are applied to the second panel adjacent to the vent opening. When the article of apparel is exposed to an external stimulus, the film structures undergo a reversible increase in dimension in at least the z-direction which cause the second panel of material to undergo a reversible decrease in dimension in the direction of a longitudinal axis of the vent opening thereby causing the vent opening to dynamically transition from a closed state to an open state.

Abstract: A length L between the markings 11a measured by the pre-coating thickness measuring device 17 and a length L′ between the markings 11a measured by the post-coating thickness measuring device 18 are calculated, and a length ratio is obtained. Measurement positions of thickness data measured by the post-coating thickness measuring device 18 are corrected based on the calculated length ratio. A value at each measurement position of pre-coating thickness information on a corrected post-coating thickness interpolation line connecting measurement points of corrected post-coating thickness information obtained by correcting the measurement positions with a line segment is determined as post-coating thickness at each measurement position. A difference between the determined value and the pre-coating thickness is calculated. If it is in a predetermined range, the electrode is determined as a non-defective product.

Abstract: A system for additively manufacturing a composite part is disclosed. The system comprises a housing and a nozzle. The nozzle is supported by the housing. The nozzle comprises an outlet, sized to dispense a continuous flexible line. The continuous flexible line comprises a non-resin component and a photopolymer-resin component. The system also comprises a feed mechanism, supported within the housing. The feed mechanism is configured to push the continuous flexible line out of the outlet of the nozzle. The system further comprises a light source, supported by the housing. The light source is configured to deliver a light beam to the continuous flexible line after the continuous flexible line exits the outlet of the nozzle to at least partially cure the photopolymer-resin component of the continuous flexible line.
