    Abstract: A display system useful as a head-up display for vehicles, such as aircraft, automobiles, trucks, etc., includes a fluorescent material that can be carried on a support. The head-up display system further includes a projection assembly having an electromagnetic radiation source. The projection assembly is configured to direct electromagnetic radiation of one or more selected wavelengths toward the support to cause the fluorescent material to fluoresce and form an image.

    Abstract: A window for reducing or preventing bird collisions therewith. The window includes a first substrate and a second substrate, spaced apart from one another. The first substrate is configured to face an exterior of a building and has a first coating on an inward facing surface. The first coating reflects ultraviolet (UV) radiation, and includes first, second, and third layers in this order moving away from the first substrate. The first and third layers each contain at least one dielectric material chosen among niobium oxide, titanium oxide, zirconium oxide, a mixed oxide of titanium and zirconium, and a mixed nitride of zirconium and silicon, and the second layer contains silicon oxide SiOx. The first coating contains only the first, second and third layers.

    Abstract: A windshield for vehicle includes a glass plate with a terminal including a first glass plate, a conductor made of a material containing silver and glass frit and including a terminal joint portion, and a terminal joined to the terminal joint portion of the conductor through lead-free solder, in which the glass plate with the terminal further includes an inorganic thin film between the first glass plate and the terminal joint portion, the inorganic thin film including at least one metal compound layer, having an overall thickness of 1,000 nm or smaller, and having a single-layer structure or a laminated structure, and at least an outermost surface of the inorganic thin film having an insulating property.
