Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for transmitting broadcast signals, including: formatting input streams to a plurality of data pipes (DPs), wherein the formatting comprises allocating data packets to a payload of a baseband frame (BBF), and adding a header indicating a format of the payload of the baseband frame, and the header comprises at least one of first control information and second control information.
Abstract:
Methods and devices for processing and retransmitting highway communication system transmissions include determining a reliability of a received message and including an indication of the reliability in retransmitted transmissions. Reliability of received messages may be based on a signal strength of the received peer transmission, comparison of the signal strength to a distance to the transmitter based on message contents, the age of the received message, the signal quality of the received message, and other parameters. An indication of the determined reliability may be included in retransmissions of the message to enable other vehicles and receiver units in the highway communication system to benefit from the reliability determination. Message reliability may be used as part of prioritizing messages for processing. Messages may be processed according to priority so that high priority messages are processed before lower priority messages.
Abstract:
Error correction coding for streaming communication is provided. A streaming problem is modeled as a non-multicast network problem with a nested receiver structure. Each packet in the streaming problem corresponds to a link, and each deadline in the streaming problem corresponds to a receiver in the non-multicast network problem. For the non-multicast network problem, content to be transmitted in multiple packets to multiple receivers is obtained. Each of the receivers is required to decode specific independent messages from the content, at given time steps, and has access to a subset of the content received by another receiver. The content is allocated into multiple packets to be transmitted on multiple links. No coding occurs across information demanded by different receivers. A capacity region defines a set of information rate vectors that can be communicated to the receivers successfully. A rate vector is successfully communicated if it complies with various inequalities.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for suppressing vocoder noise are provided. In the method, first information and second information are received from a channel decoder, the first information indicating whether a decoded data frame has an error and the second information being a channel quality metric, error concealment voice decoding is performed on the decoded data frame if the first information indicates that no channel decoding error has been generated and the second information is smaller than a predetermined first threshold, and normal voice decoding is performed on the decoded data frame if the first information indicates that no channel decoding error has been generated and the second information is equal to or larger than the first threshold.
Abstract:
A wireless network system and corresponding methodologies that operate in a user cooperative communication system are provided. In operation, the system either combines packets transmitted from a direct channel with packets transmitted from and a relay channel, or uses erroneously relayed packets to assist decoding a direct packet.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, protocol violations of a particular protocol are induced at one or more predetermined intervals within a particular stream of information encoded according to the particular protocol in order to produce a marked particular stream of information for use in subsequent identification of the marked particular stream of information. The marked stream is multiplexed or otherwise communicated to a second device. The second device detects, and typically corrects, the induced protocol violations. And based on which stream of information included the induced protocol violations and the multiplexing/distribution pattern of the other streams of information, the second device can identify which stream is which and process or forward accordingly.
Abstract:
A combination switch 10 outputs operation command signals to a driving system of a vehicle according to a switching operation of a switching unit 11 and includes a storage part 21 that stores determination information 21a indicating whether combinations of operation command signals to be outputted from switches of the switching unit 11 are abnormal or normal, a determination part 22 that refers to the determination information 21a in the storage part 21, determines whether or not a combination of the operation command signals is abnormal, and if an abnormal combination of the operation command signals continues longer than a predetermined time, adds, to the operation command signals, abnormality information indicating that the combination of the operation command signals is abnormal, and a communication part 13 that transmits the operation command signals added with the abnormality information.
Abstract:
A serial buffer monitors an incoming stream of packets to identify single missing packets and multiple consecutive missing packets. Upon detecting multiple consecutive missing packets, an interrupt is generated, thereby stopping the data transfer. Upon detecting a single missing packet, a single missing packet identifier is inserted into the packet header of the packet that resulted in identification of the single missing packet. The incoming packets, including any inserted single missing packet identifiers, are written to a queue. When the water level reaches the water mark of the queue, the stored packets are read to create an outgoing packet stream. When a packet read from the queue includes an inserted single missing packet identifier, a dummy packet (e.g., a packet having a data payload of all zeros) is inserted into the outgoing packet stream. As a result, real-time applications are capable of processing the outgoing packet stream in a constant fashion.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method are provided for indicating an error of a transport packet in an audio and video communication system. The method includes receiving a frame including a transport packet, attempting Forward Error Correction (FEC) on the frame, and setting a value of an error indicating field in the transport packet according to a result of the FEC. The error indicating field includes at least one of a first flag indicating a presence or absence of an error in the transport packet, a second flag indicating a success or failure of the FEC, and a third flag indicating detection or non-detection of a Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC).
Abstract:
The specification and drawings present a new method, system, apparatus and software product for improving the performance of an uplink communication utilizing a hybrid automatic repeat protocol (HARQ) by an HARQ failure indication over Iub-interface (e.g., from a node B to a radio network controller, RNC) in mobile communication networks including a number of HARQ retransmissions before said failure occurred.
