Abstract:
An image reading apparatus includes an image reader, an image adjuster and an execution controller that causes the image reader to read an adjustment document and causes the image adjuster to adjust image data generated by the image reader. The adjustment document includes line images and parameter images at positions spaced apart in a main scanning direction in a margin area where the line images are not provided. The parameter images indicate parameters used in image adjustment processing. The execution controller judges whether the image data corresponding to predetermined positions in the main scanning direction coincide, selects one of the image data judged to coincide, and causes the image adjuster to perform the image adjustment using the selected image data and the parameter indicated by the image data generated by reading the parameter image at the position in the main scanning direction of the selected image data.
Abstract:
A method for image data capture and storage is provided, where a reference and an image are optically captured and then processed. The reference is used to assist in determining a normalization operation that can be performed in order to correct for skew, rotation, and other events that can occur during capture of an image. The reference is also used to determine a data schema which is used for storing the normalized image.
Abstract:
A system and method of perceptual quality assessment for multimedia content in a communications network employing digital watermarking. A content preparer prepares content for quality assessment by embedding digital watermarks into the multimedia data, each watermark having a different level of robustness with respect to a specified type of potential degradation introduced during content transmission. A quality assessor provides an assessment of the quality of the transmitted content by attempting to detect the presence of at least one watermark, and calculating a quality assessment score based on the level(s) of robustness of the detected watermark(s) with respect to the specified type of potential degradation. The quality assessment score can be calculated based on the level of robustness of the least robust watermark whose presence was successfully detected by the quality assessor. The quality assessor generates an output indication of the transmitted content fidelity using any suitable type of output indication.
Abstract:
An information processing device includes a retaining unit and an image display. The retaining unit retains image-formation-related information of an image forming apparatus that forms an image. The image display causes a display section of a portable terminal having the display section and an image capturing section to display an image for assisting with an operation of the image forming apparatus based on a captured image result of the image capturing section and the image-formation-related information retained in the retaining unit.
Abstract:
A medium stores a program. The program causes a computer to: acquire relative area information which at least indicates a relative position of a reference area relative to a reference document and a relative size of the reference area relative to a size of the reference document; acquire target image data which indicates a target image including a document; identify a target area in the target image by use of the target image data, the target area being in the relative position, which is indicated by the relative area information, relative to the target image, the target area having the relative size, which is indicated by the relative area information, relative to the size of the target image; analyze an area, in the target image, including the target area; and output output image data based on the target image data.
Abstract:
A digital image is captured. The captured digital image includes a calibration pattern. The calibration pattern includes displayed information about the calibration pattern. The displayed information is read to obtain calibration information about the captured digital image.
Abstract:
A method of measuring a display delay includes a first step where a first display device performs a switching operation of switching a display pattern displayed on a display unit of the first display device, a second step where a first camera captures a first image and displays the first image in a live view mode, a third step where a second camera captures a second image containing the first image and records at least the first image contained in the captured second image while being correlated with information indicative of an imaging time when the second image is captured, and a fourth step where a display delay time of the first camera from the imaging of the first image to the display of the first image is deduced from the time indicated by the display pattern contained in the first image and the information indicative of the imaging time.
Abstract:
According to the present invention, patch data is printed in such a manner that the length of a low-optical-density patch is small and the length of a high-optical-density patch is large. In addition, the measurement is performed by a sensor that measures at a constant scanning speed. Therefore, SN of a dark patch having a high optical density is improved, and a patch chart can be measured in a short time.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus which is capable of appropriately replaying movies to be displayed to the user. The image forming apparatus stores combinations of a plurality of movies for a plurality of maintenance procedures of the image forming apparatus and orders of replay for the plurality of movies according to each type of the plurality of maintenance procedures, specifies a type of the maintenance procedure to be executed to the image forming apparatus, and acquires a plurality of movies corresponding to the type of the specified maintenance procedure based on the stored information and replays the acquired movies as a series of movies according to the orders of relay.
Abstract:
Methods and devices are described for detecting boundaries of documents on flatbed and multi-function scanners on a first pass of a carriage assembly, and then performing a high resolution scan on a second pass. High resolution images of documents can then be obtained with little or no interaction normally necessary to identify areas of interest on the scanner bed. Patterns on the scanner cover or lid facilitate not only edge determination, but orientation of text and other objects, and straightening of images in preparation for OCR and related functions. Electronic images and files derived from paper documents may be automatically cropped, deskewed, subjected to OCR, and named consistent with content or other information derived from them.
