Abstract:
A surface treatment device for applying a surface treatment to an inner surface of a hollow engine shaft extending longitudinally along a shaft axis and having an axial shaft length to be treated. The device includes a supply of a surface treatment agent and an elongated rod extending from a proximal end to a distal end with an applicator disposed at the distal end. The elongated rod is insertable inside the hollow engine shaft. An applicator is disposed at the distal end of the elongated rod and wetted with the surface treatment agent. The applicator is engageable with the inner surface of the hollow engine shaft for applying the surface treatment agent to the inner surface of the hollow engine shaft. A pair of markers are disposed on the elongated rod and axially spaced apart from one another at a first axial distance corresponding to the axial shaft length.
Abstract:
Sealant injection systems for injecting sealant into a cavity, the sealant injection systems including a sealant dispensing tip having a proximal end portion, a body portion, and a distal end portion that define a continuous channel to an aperture in the distal end portion for dispensing sealant material into a cavity, where the aperture is surrounded by a compressible material. The distal end portion may have a linear ridge defined on an end face, the aperture being asymmetrically provided relative to the ridge.
Abstract:
The method to radially displace liquid liner inside a pipe includes the step of flowing the liner around a distributive body placed within a pipe gas stream. As the gas streams past the distributive body, the liner coats the pipe homogeneously from top to bottom.
Abstract:
A nozzle assembly includes an inner tubular member having a closed end and an opposed open end for receiving a fluid from a source, at least one outlet extending radially through the inner tubular member proximate the closed end, wherein the closed end is configured for insertion into a bore defined by a sidewall in a work piece. The nozzle assembly further includes a slidably movable outer sleeve, having a distal end, disposed around the inner tubular member, wherein the distal end is configured for contact with an exterior edge portion of the bore. The outer sleeve is normally biased to a first position sealing the at least one outlet from the exterior, and slidably movable to a second position unsealing the at least one outlet upon contact with the edge portion of the bore as the closed end of the inner tubular member is inserted into the bore.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an application device for the simultaneous and uniform discharge of a foamable reaction mixture on to a surface, a device for the production of sandwich composite elements and a process for the continuous or discontinuous production of sandwich composite elements, especially foam composite elements with rigid and flexible outer layers.
Abstract:
A method for continuously coating the inside of a continuously extruded hollow profiled bar made of elastic material and a liquid wiper and a device for removing excess coating agent from the chambers of a hollow profiled member. A hollow profiled bar is directed through a stationary supply of a liquid coating agent on a bent, arc-shaped track, whereby inner walls of the hollow profiled bar are moistened with coating agent, and the hollow profiled bar is guided along a rising track directly after running through the coating agent supply. Excess coating agent is wiped off one or plural inner walls with the aid of liquid wipers mounted inside the hollow chambers, the hollow profiled bar being continuously moved relative to the liquid wipers. The liquid wipers include at least one magnet or magnetizable material and a wiping lip that touches the inner walls while being located downstream of the coating agent supply in a zone of a sloped track of the hollow profiled bar. The liquid wipers are retained in a steady position within the track of the hollow profiled bar with the aid of counter magnet or magnetizable materials that are fixed next to the outer surface of the continuous hollow profiled bar.
Abstract:
A pipe paver finishing machine is disclosed for applying and finishing concrete lining onto the interior surface of a lower segment portion of a drainage pipe. The machine includes a chassis member adapted for movement longitudinally along the interior of the drainage pipe and a surfacing unit suspended from the chassis member and adapted for a pendulum-type pivotal movement substantially about the center point of drainage pipe to apply and to finish a concrete liner onto the bottom interior surface of the drainage pipe.
Abstract:
A trowel for smoothing mortar coated on the interior wall of a pipe, including an elastic member for receiving pressurized air and inflating to a diameter less than the interior of the pipe. A blade assembly is connected to and extends from the elastic member, and defines an outer circular surface substantially corresponding to the coated interior diameter of the pipe for engaging and smoothing said mortar. The blade assembly is constructed and arranged to accommodate variances in the inner diameter of the pipeline.
Abstract:
A method for coating the internal threads of a fastener includes a rotatable base for holding the fastener, and an applicator having a discharge orifice extending through its side wall which contacts the internal threads at a single point of tangency, the axis of the applicator being offset from the rotational axis of the base. Thus, an induced side load force is created at the point of tangency for effecting the pressing of discharged sealant into the roots of the threads. Differently sized internally threaded elements can be coated in accordance with the invention while using the same sealant applicator.
Abstract:
An apparatus to apply uniform amounts of adhesive to containers at a high rate of speed. Containers are selected at a variable interval. The containers are positioned against dual spiral timing screws (one timing screw above the other). Turning the timing screws a constant (but adjustable) number of degrees with respect to each other while they rotate at the same speed will either advance a container in a level position or they may be advanced while tilted, forward or backward depending upon the relative position of the upper and lower timing screw. While the container is advancing, it is also being turned so that the upper surfaces of the container may be positioned against a rotating cylinder to which a layer of adhesive is continuously applied. In this manner adhesive may be applied around the entire circumference of a container on the top, inside edge, outside edge or both edges.
