Abstract: A method of video decoding in a decoder is provided. A first template magnitude of a first transform coefficient in a specific frequency region of the transform block is determined. The first template magnitude is a first single value representing magnitudes of a first local template of the first transform coefficient. A first context model is identified for coding the syntax element of the first transform coefficient, the first context model being shared with at least a second transform coefficient in the specific frequency region of the transform block, a second template magnitude of the second transform coefficient having a second single value that belongs to a first subinterval. A first bin of the syntax element of the first transform coefficient and a second bin of the syntax element of the second transform coefficient is determined, from the coded bits, based on the first context model.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide a method and an apparatus including processing circuitry for video decoding. The processing circuitry decodes coded information for a transform block (TB) from a coded video bitstream. The coded information indicates one of intra prediction mode information that indicates an intra prediction mode used for the TB, a size of the TB, and a primary transform type used for the TB. The processing circuitry determines a context for entropy decoding a secondary transform index based on the one of the intra prediction mode information for the TB, the size of the TB, and the primary transform type used for the TB. The secondary transform index indicates a secondary transform in a set of secondary transforms that is to be performed on the TB. The processing circuitry entropy decodes the secondary transform index based on the context and performs the secondary transform.

Abstract: A current block is coded by an affine mode and includes a first control point at a first corner of the current block. A current template associated with the first control point is determined. A plurality of candidate reference templates is determined in a reference picture for the current template. A reference template is selected from the plurality of candidate reference templates for the current template based on a template matching (TM) cost. The TM cost indicates a respective difference between each candidate reference template and the current template of the first control point. A first control point motion vector (CPMV) is determined based on the selected reference template, where the first CPMV indicates an offset between the selected reference template in the reference picture and the current template associated with the first control point. The current block is reconstructed based at least on the first CPMV.

Abstract: Processing circuitry receives coded information of a motion vector difference (MVD). The processing circuitry calculates cost values associated with value combinations for a plurality of bits in coding bits of the MVD, at least one of the plurality of bits is a bit in a codeword for indicating a magnitude for the MVD. The processing circuitry determines a combination of prediction values for the plurality of bits from the value combinations, the combination of prediction values is associated with a lowest cost value in the cost values. The processing circuitry decodes the coded information of the MVD to obtain one or more indicators for the combination of prediction values, the one or more indicators indicates whether the plurality of bits is correctly predicted by the combination of prediction values. The processing circuitry determines the MVD based on the combination of prediction values and the one or more indicators.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide methods and apparatuses for point cloud processing. In some examples, an apparatus for point cloud processing includes processing circuitry. For example, the processing circuitry obtains point cloud data corresponding to a point cloud in a three dimensional (3D) space, projects the point cloud in the 3D space to one or more two dimensional (2D) planes to generate one or more images.
