The image processing system is an image processing system including an electronic camera and an image output device, in which the electronic camera includes an image pickup unit capturing an object image by an image sensor and outputting raw data of a digital format, a recording unit recording the raw data, a conversion unit reading the raw data from the recording unit to convert the raw data to a data format which can be handled by the image output device, and a transfer unit transferring the converted raw data, and in which the image output device includes a receiving unit receiving the raw data transferred by the transfer unit, an image processing unit performing image processing for output on the raw data, and an image output unit outputting the raw data as an image, thereby shortening the processing time and improving the operability.

To reduce trouble of specifying a target equipment, a nickname, an image, and the like are transmitted from a digital camera to a printer by wire connection not through a LAN. After the digital camera is connected to the printer through the LAN, the digital camera displays information regarding the printer on a monitor based on the nickname, the image, and the like received from the printer.

In an information processor connected with an external apparatus by wireless to transmit and receive data, a connection with a plurality of external apparatuses can be easily changed. The information processor includes a wireless USB (WUSB) communication unit configured to connect to each of a plurality of external apparatuses by wireless to transmit and receive data to and from each external apparatus. A CPU acquires information about at least one external apparatus among a plurality of external apparatuses via the WUSB communication unit. The acquired information is displayed on a display unit before the communication is started to perform image processing between the information processor and one of a plurality of external apparatuses via the WUSB communication unit.

Fax transmission over a PLMN using a home gateway connected to the originating fax terminal equipment. A call setup request for a fax call destined towards terminating fax terminal equipment is sent. At the originating fax terminal equipment, a reply from the home gateway is received, sending data from the originating fax terminal equipment to the home gateway and storing them in the home gateway. A call establishment request from the home gateway to the PLMN and at least one connection establishment request from the home gateway to the terminating fax terminal equipment are sent. Waiting for a connection establishment confirmation from the terminating fax terminal equipment within a configurable time. When the connection establishment confirmation is received, sending from the home gateway stored data to the terminating fax terminal equipment through the PLMN and optionally a notification on the fax transmission status—to the originating fax terminal equipment.

According to this invention, an intended image is transferred and printed even in a system which transfers image data by a handle upon reception of a print request list described by the file name of an image. In order to realize this, according to this invention, when a DPOF print request file which describes an image to be printed by the file name of the image exists in the memory card of a digital camera (3012) serving as an image supply side, a new file in which the file name in the print request file is replaced by a handle is generated and transmitted to a printer (1000).
