Abstract: The present invention comprises a method for the generation of 227Th of pharmaceutically tolerable purity comprising i) preparing a generator mixture comprising 227Ac, 227Th and 223Ra; ii) loading said generator mixture onto a strong base anion exchange resin; iii) eluting a mixture of said 223Ra and 227Ac from said strong base anion exchange resin using a first mineral acid in an aqueous solution; iv) eluting 227Th from said strong base anion exchange resin using a second mineral acid in an aqueous solution whereby to generate a first 227Th solution containing contaminant 223Ra and 227Ac; v) loading the first 227Th solution onto a strong acid cation exchange resin; vi) eluting at least a part of the contaminant 223Ra and 227Ac from said strong acid cation exchange resin using a third mineral acid in aqueous solution; and vii) eluting the 227Th from said strong acid cation exchange resin using a first aqueous buffer solution to provide a second 227Th solution. Purified thorium-227 of pharmaceutical purity and a pharmaceutical composition comprising the same are also provided.

Abstract: This disclosure provides certain strong cation-modified ion exchange resins and membranes useful for carrying out the removal of metal and metal ion contaminants in fluid compositions. Filtered liquid compositions with significantly reduced amounts of metals can be used in a microelectronic manufacturing process, such as liquids for removing photoresist. The cation-modified ion exchange resins and membranes of the disclosure can be configured for use in a microelectronic manufacturing system, which can be utilized in the system as a point of use metal-removal feature for liquids entering the system. Advantageously, the filter materials and methods of this disclosure showed considerable improvement in preventing degradation and the formation of color bodies and dimeric and oligomeric materials from ketones (e.g., cyclohexanone) in the liquid compositions while not compromising the filter material's ability to remove undesired metal ions.

Abstract: A method and device of removing and recycling metals from a mixing acid solution, includes adsorbing a mixing acid solution with a pH value of −1 to 4 and a cobalt ion concentration of 100 to 1,000 mg/L by at least two cation resins in series setting to the cobalt ion concentration in the mixing acid solution is less than 10 mg/L, and then adjusting the pH value of the mixing acid solution after adsorption to meet a discharge standard, wherein the particle size of the at least two cation resins in series setting is 150˜1,200 μm. After the cation resins are saturated by adsorption, regenerating the cation resins by sulfuric acid to form a cobalt sulfate solution, and then electrolytically treating the cobalt sulfate solution to obtain electrolytic cobalt and sulfuric acid electrolyte. The operation process is simple without complicated equipment, and it can effectively recycle metals from mixing acid solutions. The cationic resin and sulfuric acid solution can also be reused, so the method of the present invention has environmental and economic benefits.

Abstract: A composite extractant-enhanced polymer resin comprising an extractant and a polymer resin for direct extraction of valuable metals such as rare earth metals, and more specifically, scandium, front an acid-leaching slurry and/or acid-leaching solution in which ferric ions are not required to be reduced into ferrous ions. The extractant may be cationic, non-ionic, or anionic. More specifically, the extractant di(2-ethylhexyl)phosphoric acid may be used. The polymer resin may be non-functional or have functional groups of sulfonic acid, carboxylic acid, iminodiacetic acid, phosphoric acid, or amines. The composite extractant-enhanced polymer resin may be used for extraction of ran earth metals from acid-leaching slurries or solutions.
