Abstract: A radiator assembly for a base station antenna has a central axis and two dipoles arranged in a crossed manner, where each of the dipoles includes two dipole arms, and each of the dipole arms have a radiating surface which has an outer contour. The radiator assembly comprises an electrically conductive annular element that mounted above the radiating surfaces. The annular element is configured to be closed circumferentially and has an inner contour which is compliant to an outer contour line of the combination of all four radiating surfaces.

Abstract: A base station antenna that extends along a first longitudinal axis includes a first array configured to emit electromagnetic radiation. The first array includes a first column of radiating elements, the first column including a first radiating element and a pair of second radiating elements. The first radiating element is a cross dipole radiating element and the pair of second radiating elements includes a pair of second radiating elements that are disposed facing each other on both sides of the first longitudinal axis, where each of the second radiating elements includes first and second radiating arms that extend respectively in opposite directions substantially along the first longitudinal axis, and a third radiating arm that extends toward the first longitudinal axis substantially perpendicular to the first and second radiating arms.

Abstract: An isolator for an antenna system includes a printed circuit board based parasitic element, where the parasitic element has a functional portion and a first connecting portion, and the functional portion has a printed electrically-conducting segment, and the first connecting portion is configured to engage a base board of the antenna system. The isolator further includes at least one support element configured as a second printed circuit board component, where the support element has a second connecting portion, and the second connecting portion is configured to engage the base board of the antenna system, and the support element is configured to support the parasitic element.

Abstract: An antenna assembly includes a substrate having front and back surfaces thereon and a plurality of through-holes therein, along with a solder pad on the back surface of the substrate. An input cable is also provided, which is attached to the back surface of the substrate. The input cable includes an outer conductor, which contacts the back surface of the substrate, and an inner conductor, which extends at least partially through a first of the plurality of through-holes and is electrically connected to the solder pad. A metal trace (e.g., 50-ohm trace) is provided on the front surface of the substrate. The metal trace is electrically connected to the solder pad by electrically conductive plating in a second of the plurality of through-holes.

The RF lens is configured to re-direct a portion of an RF signal emitted by the radiating element downwardly so that a first peak emission of RF energy through a combination of the radiating element and the RF lens at elevation angles that are greater than 30° from a boresight pointing direction of the radiating element is less than a second peak emission of RF energy through the combination of the radiating element and the RF lens at elevation angles that are less than −30° from the boresight pointing direction of the radiating element.
