Abstract: A hinge knee system includes a tibial assembly having a baseplate component and an axle component. The baseplate component has an opening that extends therein from a proximal end toward a distal end thereof. The axle component has a shaft portion receivable within the opening of the baseplate component and an axle connected to the shaft portion that extends in a direction transverse to a longitudinal axis of the shaft portion. The system also includes a femoral assembly that includes a distal femoral component. The distal femoral component includes condylar portions and an intercondylar portion disposed between the condylar portions. The intercondylar portion includes a bearing surface that defines a recess configured to rotatably receive the axle for articulation therewith.

Abstract: A distal femoral joint replacement system includes a femoral component having condylar articular surfaces, a stem extending from the femoral component, and a void filler for filling a bone void within a femur. The void filler includes a body and a plurality of legs extending from the body. The body has a sidewall defining an opening for receipt of the stem which extends along a length of the body and extends through the sidewall so as to form a side-slot in the sidewall that extends along an entire length of the sidewall. The plurality of legs each have a first end connected to the body and a second end remote from the body. The legs each have an outer surface that tapers between the first and second ends and is configured to register with a corresponding inner surface of a bone void when implanted in an end of the femur.

Abstract: A total knee prosthesis includes a femoral component and a tibial component. The femoral component includes medial and lateral condyles defining an intercondylar notch therebetween. The femoral component further includes a spherical member and a cam member disposed within the intercondylar notch. The tibial component includes a post defining a recess thereon sized to fit the spherical member of the femoral component. At some positions of flexion of the knee prosthesis, the spherical member may rotate with respect to the post recess, allowing the femoral component to articulate with respect to the tibial component. At some positions of flexion of the knee prosthesis, the cam member may contact the post of the tibial member, causing a translation of the spherical member within the post recess and allowing articulation of the femoral component with respect to the tibial component.

Abstract: A corrugated sawblade includes a body extending from a proximal end to a distal end and a cutting element coupled to the distal end of the body. The body is corrugated such that the body forms a wavy pattern defining ridges creating a series of peaks and valleys along the body. The corrugated body reduces the surface area of the sawblade contacting surrounding surfaces such as a cutting guide and the interior of the bone through which the blade is cutting. The decreased surface area in contact reduces friction and therefore reduces the amount of heat generated by the oscillating motion of the blade, reducing the likelihood of osteonecrosis. The cutting surface coupled to the body has a rectangular cross section for producing a planar cut.

Abstract: A bone void forming assembly includes a support member having a head portion and an elongate portion extending therefrom. A guide member is connected to the support member and has a guide body including a channel extending therethrough. The channel defines an axis offset and obliquely angled relative to an axis of the elongate portion. The assembly also includes reamer having a cutting head and a stop member. A bushing is slidably connected to the reamer between the stop member and cutting head and is slidably connectable to the guide body via the channel.
