Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to communication systems, and more particularly, to system information acquisition over bandwidth parts (BWPs) in communications system operating according to new radio (NR) technologies. In an exemplary method, a user equipment (UE) receives system information (SI) via a transmission in a downlink (DL) bandwidth part (BWP) of a system bandwidth and transmits, to a serving base station (BS) and in response to receiving the SI, an indication that the UE has completed SI acquisition.

Abstract: Techniques described provide for a wireless network to establish and implement periodic and aperiodic sidelink gaps. One implementation may include transmitting, by a first user equipment (UE), a sidelink configuration message. The sidelink configuration message may indicate a capability of the first UE to support a sidelink periodic gap and a sidelink aperiodic gap. A message may be received by the first UE indicating whether the first UE is allowed to request a gap according to one or more of the indicated capabilities. The first UE may transmit a sidelink information message comprising an absolute radio frequency channel number (AR-FCN) and an associated gap list. An RRC reconfiguration message may also be received by the first UE having and updated gap list. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: A wireless device may receive a first synchronization signal block (SSB) in a radio frequency band of a first cell of a neighbor base station, and report a physical cell identifier (PCI) for the first cell to a serving base station. The serving base station may identify, based on the PCI report, whether a radio frequency band of the first SSB is in or off a synchronization raster, and determine whether to instruct the UE to report a global cell identifier (CGI) for the neighbor base station (e.g., CGI for the neighbor cell) based on the identification. The wireless device may identify CGI based system information obtained from the neighbor cell, system information obtained from a master cell associated with the neighbor base station, system information obtained from CGI broadcast from the neighbor cell, or system information requested from the neighbor cell using dedicated resources, based on the instruction.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A base station may determine a measurement scheme or uplink mode and then transmit an indication of the scheme or uplink mode to an associated user equipment (UE). The base station may identify a set of hidden nodes for the UE and configure the UE for autonomous or grant-based uplink transmissions accordingly. A UE may initiate a channel clearance scheme by transmitting a first channel clearance signal (e.g., a request-to-send message), which may include a UE identifier before transmitting an uplink message in the unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band. In response, the base station may transmit a second channel clearance signal (e.g., a clear-to-send message). In some cases, the second channel clearance signal may include control information or may be transmitted at a power level that is based on a characteristic of the UE.

Abstract: Techniques and apparatus for a control plane design for bandwidth part (BWP) in new radio (NR) are provided. One technique includes sending information with an indication of a BWP capability of a user equipment (UE) to a base station (BS). A configuration from the BS indicating a set of BWPs available to use for communication is received in response to the indication. Communications are performed on at least one of the set of BWPs. Another technique includes receiving information having an indication of a BWP capability of the UE. A configuration indicating a set of BWPs available for the UE to use for communication is determined. The configuration is sent to the UE.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for wireless communication by a user equipment (UE). In one aspect, the UE is configured to select, by a user equipment (UE), a list of synchronization signal block (SSB) frequencies included in at least one message as a selected list of SSB frequencies. The UE is further configured to determine, based on whether a first frequency included in the selected list of SSB frequencies is an overlapping carrier or a non-overlapping carrier, whether to perform a new radio (NR) early measurement operation for the first frequency. The UE is also configured to identify a SSB-based measurement timing configuration (SMTC) based on a determination to perform the NR early measurement operation for the first frequency, and to initiate the NR early measurement operation for the first frequency using the identified SMTC.

According to aspects, an eNB may compress a larger number of antenna elements to a smaller number of antenna ports. The eNB may use a port precoding matrix to transmit reference signals to a UE, receive feedback regarding CSI based on the reference signals, and transmit data to the UE, based on a mapping of multiple data layers and mapping of antenna ports to the physical antenna elements. Further, aspects include performing elevation beamforming by dynamically forming one or more vertical sectors based on UE feedback in the elevation domain.

The message may include an indication of a UE identifier for the first UE within the group. The message may include a DMRS, where the indication of the UE identifier is represented by a sequence of the DMRS.
