The ratchet assembly resides within drive collar and includes ratchet wheel (111) having an annular array of ratchet teeth (112) configured to mesh with the pawl of the indexing pin. Abstract: Apparatus for a door for a boat's companionway hatch. The door includes a frame, a door, a drive mechanism, and a receiver. The drive mechanism moves the door between an open and closed position to selectively allow and block access to a bulkhead opening in the companionway. In the open position, the edge of the door is substantially parallel with the companionway sidewall. In the closed position the edge of the door engages the receiver and the edge is substantially parallel with the sidewall to which the receiver is attached. The drive mechanism includes a pair of struts that are driven by an actuator to move with a scissors-like motion. One end of each strut is fixed in position. The opposite end of each strut has a roller that moves within a slot, with one slot in the door and the other slot in the frame.

Abstract: A damper assembly is provided for a hinge, which comprises a damping device (10) with a piston arranged to be moveable over a working stroke within a cylinder (15) containing damping fluid. The damping device (10) is mounted on a bracket (11) and retained in position by a housing (12). A mechanism (18, 19) is provided for converting rotational movement of the hinge in at least part of one direction into actuation of the damping device (10) on its working stroke. The movement converting mechanism (18, 19) is arranged to act on the cylinder (15) at a position substantially outside the range of movement of the piston on its working stroke. The arrangement minimises the transmission of radial forces from the movement of the door to the cylinder (15).
