Abstract:
An image forming system includes a plurality of image forming apparatuses and a group management server. The plurality of image forming apparatuses each include a document-box management unit. The document-box movement processing unit transmits a command to at least one of a first image forming apparatus assigned to a group before the movement and a second image forming apparatus assigned to a group after the movement, the command causing movement of a document box of the moved user from the first image forming apparatus to the second image forming apparatus. The document-box management unit in at least one of the first image forming apparatus and the second image forming apparatus accepts the command. The document-box management unit forwards the document box of the moved user from the first image forming apparatus to the second image forming apparatus.
Abstract:
A printer may comprise a command file storage unit, a receiving unit, a command file sending unit, and a first data sending unit. The command file storage unit may store a command file including a first command, a second command, and a third command. The first command is a command for sending a request for first data. The second command includes design data, and is a command for converting the first data into second data in accordance with the design data. The third command is a command for displaying a web page in accordance with the second data. The receiving unit may receive a request. The command file sending unit may send a response including the command file when a request for the command file is received. The first data sending unit may send a response including the first data when the request for the first data is received.
Abstract:
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium stores a set of instructions executed by a data processing apparatus. The instructions cause the data processing apparatus to: receive a selection of one function among a plurality of functions; acquire an IP address and/or a MAC address from each device possessing the selected function;display, on a display device, a name of each device from which the IP address and/or the MAC address is acquired; receive a selection of one device among the devices whose names are displayed on the display device; register, in a memory, the selected device in correlation with the selected function and in correlation with another function other than the selected function; and transmit a command for executing the selected function to the device that is registered in correlation with the selected function by using the IP address and/or the MAC address acquired from the registered device.
Abstract:
The present invention is applicable to a peripheral device which performs processing based on information from an information processing device. The peripheral device of present invention is characterized by a storage unit, which stores in it a program of controlling of designated processing, and stores in it data for controlling the peripheral device, and by a communication unit which sends the program stored in the storage unit to the information processing device, and by a control unit which controls operation of the peripheral device based on an instruction information written into the storage unit upon execution of the program on the information processing device.
Abstract:
The storage unit of a peripheral device has a first storage area and a second storage area. The first storage area stores a plurality of control programs corresponding to a plurality of operating systems of different types. The second storage area is a storage area which is recognized by an information processing apparatus as an external storage device and in which at least one control program is replicated from the first storage area. The information processing apparatus reads out the control program from the second storage recognized by it as the external storage device, and executes the program. The information processing apparatus thus controls the peripheral device.
Abstract:

The peripheral device of present invention is characterized by a storage unit, which stores in it a program of controlling of designated processing, and stores in it data for controlling the peripheral device, and by a communication unit which sends the program stored in the storage unit to the information processing device, and by a control unit which controls operation of the peripheral device based on an instruction information written into the storage unit upon execution of the program on the information processing device.
Abstract:
In an image-forming device, an image-reading unit reads an image formed on an original document. A data-reading unit reads data stored in a storing member of the original document. A duplication-performing unit performs a plurality of duplication processes including at least an image/data-duplication process in which the duplication-performing unit forms the read image on a first recording medium having a storing member and writes the read data to the storing member of the first recording medium, and a data-duplication process in which the duplication-performing unit writes the read data to the storing member of the first recording medium without forming the read image on the first recording medium. A receiving unit receives an image/data-duplication instruction and a data-duplication instruction. The duplication-performing unit performs the image/data-duplication process if the receiving unit receives the image/data-duplication instruction, and performs the data-duplication process if the receiving unit receives the data-duplication instruction.
Abstract:
A method of operating a portable composite communication terminal the functions as both a portable phone and a camera. The method includes: setting a portable phone mode by turning on the portable composite communication terminal, regulating voltage supporting components of the portable phone mode, and performing a general portable phone function; setting a camera mode by turning on the camera in said portable phone mode upon user request for camera operation, said user request being input through a camera mode switch and processed by the controller, regulating voltage supporting components of the camera mode, and performing a camera function; capturing the image of an object upon user request for a photograph in the camera mode; and displaying a captured image stored in a camera memory of the portable composite communication terminal on a display of the portable composite communication terminal upon user request for displaying the image.
Abstract:
A portable terminal device and a program for reading information, which can read a code correctly with simple operations, and a recording medium having the program recorded thereon. A portable telephone with a camera has a camera for inputting information of an image of interest, a small light, which emits light through the operation of ON/OFF button while reading a bar code, an LCD display part for displaying information, and a control part including a CPU for controlling the whole device. The control part switches photography modes depending on the existence of objects such as natural images or bar codes. The control part recognizes a bar code when the device switches to a mode for bar code photography. Then, the device notifies a user of the results of the recognition and then performs a predetermined process based on the content of the recognition.
Abstract:
When transmitting image data photographed using a camera mounted on a mobile phone to a PC connected with the camera, if an incoming-call is received and a call starts, the photographing cannot be continued. A user of the PC cannot find such state. Storage unit 101 stores first image data indicating reception of an incoming-call and second image data indicating that a call is in progress. An image photographed by camera unit 102 is compression-coded by JPEG compression unit 103, and is stored in image data storage unit 104 in units of frames. Control unit 112 reads the image data to meet a predetermined transmission rate, and transmits the image data to host PC 120 via I/F 113. Upon receiving notification of an incoming-call from base band signal processing unit 108, control unit 112 causes camera unit 102 stop photographing, reads the first image data from storage unit 101, and transmits the first image data to host PC 120. Upon receiving notification of a call start from operation unit 105, control unit 112 reads the second image data from storage unit 101, and transmits the second image data to host PC 120.
