An image commercial transactions system and method, an image transfersystem and method, an image distribution system and method, and a display device and method are disclosed. A reception dealer accepts the transfer of an image recorded on a recording medium in a predetermined format with a handling condition intrinsic to the image, and transfers the image with the handling condition, and an advertisement, in digital data format, and a charge accounting dealer effects an electronic charge accounting transaction for the transfer of data of the image with the handling condition and the advertisement. Accordingly, a forwarding request user is helpful in making public the advertisement by having the data of the advertisement along with the data of the image forwarded, instead of the reception dealer, whereby a transfer fee for the data of image can be made lower. Consequently, it is possible to enhance the usability for the transfer significantly.

Abstract:
A peripheral device acquires the processing load of a display apparatus to which the peripheral device is connected via an interface. In accordance with the processing load acquired, the peripheral device generates a data command for adjusting the load of processing for rendering display data. The display apparatus alters the display data based upon the data command, renders the display data after the alteration thereof and displays the rendered data. As a result, when the peripheral device instructs the display apparatus to subject the display data to rendering process, an increase in length of time it takes to obtain the result of rendering is reduced.

When a plurality of documents is read to generate an image file including a plurality of pages in a storage medium, if a capacity of the storage medium is short during generation, a storage control unit returns a writing position so that file end information can be written and writes the file end information therein. Further, when a cancellation instruction is input during reading of a document, the storage control unit writes the file end information even when a file is being generated. Thus, even if a memory capacity comes short in the middle of a page or file generation is interrupted by cancellation operation, the generated file can be prevented from resulting in an incomplete file that cannot be displayed.

An electronic camera system has an electronic camera and a cradle. The electronic camera includes an image pickup section that photoelectrically converts a subject image to generate image data, a first recording section that records image data, a first connecting terminal used for transmission/reception of data to/from an outside of the camera, and a camera controlling section that transfers the image data to the outside of the camera. The cradle includes a second connecting terminal constructed to be capable of engaging with the first connecting terminal, a cradle controlling section that transmits/receives data to/from the electronic camera, and a second recording section in which the image data transferred from the electronic camera can be recorded. Also, at least one of the electronic camera and the cradle further includes a transfer determination section which determines a possibility of transferring the image data based on predetermined authentication information.

An imaging device includes measures to prevent it from becoming unusable due to battery discharge or no storage in the storage medium. The device includes a battery charge function and a data transfer function. After detecting the charge amount remaining in the battery and the remaining storage capacity in the storage medium, the order of priority for performing battery charge and data transfer is set. The imaging device is switched between the battery charge function and the data transfer function based on the set priority order. The battery charge is executed in accordance with the detected remaining charge and the data transfer in accordance with the detected remaining storage capacity.

A method for remotely viewing digital images provided to a digital image display device, the digital image display device including an image memory for storing a plurality of digital images, a display screen, and a network interface for communicating with a network, the method comprising: providing a remote viewing interface for the digital image display device, the remote viewing interface being accessible over the network from a location remote from the digital image display device; displaying one of the plurality of stored digital images on the display screen; and simultaneously displaying, on the remote viewing interface, information indicating which of the plurality of stored digital images is currently displayed on the display screen.
