Abstract: Provided is a method of producing isolated graphene sheets, comprising: (a) providing a reacting slurry containing a mixture of particles of a graphite or carbon material and an intercalant and/or an oxidizing agent; (b) providing one or a plurality of flow channels to accommodate the reacting slurry, wherein at least one of the flow channels has an internal wall surface and a volume and an internal wall-to-volume ratio of from 10 to 4,000; (c) moving the reacting slurry continuously or intermittently through at least one or a plurality of flow channels, enabling reactions between the graphite or carbon particles and the intercalant and/or oxidant to occur substantially inside the flow channels to form a graphite intercalation compound (GIC) or oxidized graphite (e.g. graphite oxide) or oxidized carbon material as a precursor material; and (d) converting the precursor material to isolated graphene sheets.

Abstract: A fluid supply device includes a condenser, a tank that stores the fluid, a pump that pressure-feeds the fluid toward a processing chamber, a main pipe connecting the tank and the pump and transferring the liquid stored in the tank to the pump using a weight of the liquid, and a discharging pipe that is connected to the main pipe at a lowest position of the main pipe at one end, is opened to the atmosphere at the other end, and vaporizes and discharges the liquid in the tank and the main pipe to the outside. The discharging pipe is formed so that, after the liquid in the tank and the main pipe is fully discharged, a liquid pool that separates a space on the atmosphere side and a space on the main pipe side of the discharging pipe is temporarily produced in the discharging pipe.

Abstract: A method for nitrous decomposition can include: expanding liquid nitrous into gaseous nitrous in a decomposition chamber; injecting heated nitrogen gas into the decomposition chamber so as to mix with the gaseous nitrous, wherein the heated nitrogen gas is at a nitrous decomposition temperature; heating the gaseous nitrous with the heated nitrogen gas to the nitrous decomposition temperature; and decomposing the gaseous nitrous into nitrogen and oxygen. The method can include: heating the nitrogen to at least the nitrous decomposition temperature; heating the liquid nitrous prior to expansion into the decomposition chamber; and performing the decomposition without a catalyst or heating element in the decomposition chamber. A swirling device can be positioned at an inlet to the decomposition chamber. A swirling nozzle can be positioned at an inlet to the decomposition chamber.

Abstract: Embodiments of an injection device shaped in order to atomize a liquid into droplets by means of a gas are disclosed herein. The injection device may comprise a body having a gas inlet orifice intended to be connected to a gas supply duct. The injection device may further comprise an outlet orifice for discharging the atomized liquid. The injection device may also comprise a straight internal duct connecting the inlet orifice to the outlet orifice along an axial direction of said body. At least two liquid inlet ducts may be intended to be connected to at least one liquid supply duct pass through said body radially or substantially radially and open into said internal duct. These liquid inlet ducts may each have an axis and are arranged so that their axes intersect at one and the same point on an axial line extending inside the internal duct.
