Abstract: A reusable, fiber containing pulp product is described that is highly suited for use in the manufacture of paper products. The reusable, fiber containing pulp product provides a mixture of fibers and small, dense polymer/particle fragments. The polymer/particle fragments within the reusable, fiber containing pulp product have a size range and density that facilitates efficient removal of the polymer/particle fragments using pressure screens.

Abstract: A balloon coating method for forming a coating layer containing a water-insoluble drug on an outer surface of a balloon of a balloon catheter. The method includes moving a drive shaft relative to at least one of a hub of the balloon catheter and an interlocking member. The drive shaft is configured to rotate the balloon catheter about an axis of the balloon. The method fixing the drive shaft to the proximal end of the hub or to the opening of the interlocking member by frictional force, and applying a coating solution containing the drug to the outer surface of the balloon from a dispensing tube while gradually moving the dispensing tube in the axial direction and simultaneously rotating the drive shaft to rotate the balloon catheter around the axis of the balloon catheter.

Abstract: A device for depositing a bead of a plastic substance on a profile includes a robotic arm, a deposition effector including an extrusion nozzle that is linked to a supply of plastic substance and that extends axially along an extrusion axis (A), and a force feedback sensor for measuring the force applied by the nozzle to the profile during the deposition of the bead. The device further includes an electronic computer implementing a computer program that is designed to control the robotic arm in space along a predetermined theoretical trajectory, and correct the theoretical trajectory according to the measurements made by the force feedback sensor, such that the bearing force (F) of the nozzle on the profile, measured by the force feedback sensor, tends towards a predefined value, in order to allow the nozzle to remain in contact on the profile.

Abstract: An improved method of protecting finished surfaces of, for example, automobiles replaces the prior art methods of spraying and hand laying large plastic sheets. In this method a slotted die extrudes a ribbon of a polymeric emulsion onto the surface to be protected under robotic control so as to maintain a constant spacing between die and surface. The die can be moved quickly and with great precision. The applied film is cured and, at a later time, is peeled from the surface.

Abstract: A process for applying a coating material onto a substrate as a non-uniform discontinuous pattern of coating material, the method including the present disclosure describes a method of applying a coating material onto a substrate, including providing a first distribution manifold having a cavity and a multiplicity of first dispensing outlets in fluid communication with the cavity, creating relative motion between a substrate and the dispensing outlets in a first direction; dispensing a first coating material from the dispensing outlets while maintaining the relative motion and translating the multiplicity of dispensing outlets in a second direction non-parallel to the first direction, and varying a rate of dispensing of the first coating material in a predetermined fashion to form a discontinuous pattern of the first coating material on a major surface of the substrate. Useful non-uniformly patterned coated articles can be prepared using the process.

Abstract: A manufacturing method of a stent is disclosed which prevents a drug from being peeled off or separated due to stress concentration or distortion resulting from the expanding deformation of the stent so that the drug is further uniformly effective and further improved yields are expected when the stent is manufactured, and a coating device. The method has a non-coating portion forming process of preventing a bending portion from being coated with the drug by causing a nozzle to go past the bending portion when the nozzle reaches the bending portion and to move toward main strut portions. In the non-coating portion forming process, an adhesion amount of a coating solution is reduced while the nozzle is going past the bending portion.

When the robot rotates the bracket from a first rotational position, at which the coating gun applies the coating agent to a coating position on the object, to a second rotational position in which the bracket is angularly changed by a predetermined rotational angle about the first axis of rotation, the detection area overlaps with the coating position.
