Abstract: There is disclosed an antifoam component which includes at least one poly(acrylate) copolymer for use in a diesel fuel. Poly(acrylate) polymers prepared by polymerizing a (meth)acrylate monomer comprising C1 to C30 alkyl esters of (meth)acrylic acid (“multifunctional monomer”) are also disclosed. Other poly(acrylate) polymers prepared by polymerizing (i) a (meth)acrylate monomer comprising C1 to C4 alkyl esters of (meth)acrylic acid (“solubility monomer”); (ii) a (meth)acrylate monomer comprising C5 to C12 alkyl esters of (meth)acrylic acid (“surface tension monomer”); and (iii) optionally at least one additional monomer comprising a solubility monomer, a surface tension monomer, a monomer comprising C1 to C30 alkyl esters of (meth)acrylic acid (“multifunctional monomer”), or combinations thereof are also disclosed.

Abstract: An additive composition containing a polymer (A) and an anti-static additive (B).The polymer (A) has the following monomer components:(i) one or more compounds of formula (I) wherein R1 is hydrogen or CH3; and R2 is a hydrocarbon group having 6 to 30 carbon atoms and is a straight-chain or branched-chain alkyl group, or an aliphatic or aromatic cyclic group; (ii) one or more compounds of formula (II) wherein R1 has the meaning above and wherein R3 is hydrogen or C1-C22 alkyl; each R4 is independently hydrogen or C1-C22 alkyl; R5 is hydrogen, a substituted or unsubstituted aliphatic or aromatic cyclic group, or a substituted or unsubstituted straight-chain or branched-chain alkyl group having 1 to 22 carbon atoms; n=0 or an integer from 1 to 22; and m is an integer from 1 to 30; and (iii) one or more compounds of formula (III) wherein R6, R7, R8, R9 and R10 are each independently hydrogen, a straight-chain or branched-chain alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms which may be substituted or unsubstituted, hydroxyl, NH2, or wherein two or more of R6, R7, R8, R9 and R10 may together form an aliphatic or aromatic ring system, which ring system may be substituted or unsubstituted. The anti-static additive (B) is (iv) an olefin polysulfone and (v) a polymeric polyamine reaction product of epichlorohydrin and an aliphatic primary monoamine or an N-aliphatic hydrocarbyl alkylene diamine, or the sulfonic acid salt of the polymeric polyamine reaction product. The weight:weight ratio of the polymer (A) to the anti-static additive (B) in the additive composition is from about 1:1 to about 500:1.

Abstract: An improvement of the flow properties of paraffin-containing crude oil, more specifically, a means of favourably influencing the pour point of crude oil and hence improving the flow properties of paraffin-containing crude oil. Abstract: The invention relates to a block copolymer and the use thereof as a cold resistance additive of a fuel or combustible. The block copolymer comprises: (i) a block A consisting of a chain of structural motifs derived from at least one α,β-unsaturated alkyl methacrylate or acrylate monomer; and (ii) a block B consisting of a chain of structural motifs derived from at least one α,β-unsaturated monomer selected from styrene derivatives, the aromatic ring of which is substituted by at least one group R selected from the groups: C1 to C24 alkyl esters, and preferably acyclic linear or branched C1 to C12 hydrocarbonated chains, said chain being substituted by at least one group containing a quaternary ammonium salt. The invention also relates to an additive concentrate containing such a copolymer and to the use thereof as an anti-sedimentation additive, and advantageously, as a TLF booster additive.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide a method of inhibiting precipitation of biodiesel fuel components. The method includes providing a biodiesel fuel composition; providing a copolymer comprising at least first and second polymer units, said first polymer units derived from a carboxylic acid anhydride and said second polymer units derived from an olefin; and blending said copolymer with the biodiesel fuel to form a treated fuel composition. Alternatively, instead of the copolymer, a dialkylene glycol additive can be provided. Embodiments of the invention provide a method of reducing the cold soak filter blocking tendency of a biodiesel fuel composition.
