Abstract: A computing system determines whether a reference audio signal contains a query. A time-frequency convolutional neural network (TFCNN) comprises a time and frequency convolutional layers and a series of additional layers, which include a bottleneck layer. The computation engine applies the TFCNN to samples of a query utterance at least through the bottleneck layer. A query feature vector comprises output values of the bottleneck layer generated when the computation engine applies the TFCNN to the samples of the query utterance. The computation engine also applies the TFCNN to samples of the reference audio signal at least through the bottleneck layer. A reference feature vector comprises output values of the bottleneck layer generated when the computation engine applies the TFCNN to the samples of the reference audio signal. The computation engine determines at least one detection score based on the query feature vector and the reference feature vector.

Abstract: Systems are provided for gripping or otherwise manipulating lettuce, sliced foodstuffs (e.g., sliced cheese, sliced tomato or other sliced vegetables), or other foodstuffs or other irregular objects or substances. These systems can facilitate the manipulation of groups of irregular objects, including distributing small amounts (e.g., individual instances) of such groups of objects. These systems operate to manipulate such objects by extending and retracting rods, wires, or otherwise-configured pins to contact and/or penetrate the object(s) to be manipulated. In some examples, the pins are retracted to individually dispense objects (e.g., slices of cheese) from a stack of objects. In some examples, the separation and angle of the pins can be controlled to, e.g., grip one or more irregular objects and subsequently to dispense some or all of the gripped object(s).

Abstract: Embodiments in accordance with the present disclosure are directed to systems and methods for managing hot flashes and/or menopause symptoms. An example system includes sensor circuitry and logic circuitry. The sensor circuitry obtains a physical measurement associated with a user and communicates the physical measurement. The logic circuitry generates a predictive model that indicates a probability of the user having a hot flash at a date and time based on a plurality of input parameters, revises the probability based on the physical measurement using the predictive model, and communicates data indicative of an action in response to the revised probability being outside a threshold, such as providing cooling relief.

Abstract: In general, the disclosure describes techniques for automatically generating summaries of meetings. A computing system obtains a transcript of a meeting and may produce, based on the transcript of the meeting, a data structure that comprises utterance features. Furthermore, the computing system may determine, based on the transcript of the meeting, temporal bounds of a plurality of activity episodes within the meeting. For each respective activity episode of a plurality of activity episodes, the computing system may determine, based on the utterance features associated with the respective activity episode, a conversational activity type associated with the respective activity episode. Additionally, the computing system may produce an episode summary for the respective activity episode that is dependent on the determined conversational activity type associated with the respective activity episode. The episode summary for the respective activity episode summarizes a conversational activity that occurred during the respective activity episode.

Abstract: A method, apparatus and system for zero shot object detection includes, in a semantic embedding space having embedded object class labels, training the space by embedding extracted features of bounding boxes and object class labels of labeled bounding boxes of known object classes into the space, determining regions in an image having unknown object classes on which to perform object detection as proposed bounding boxes, extracting features of the proposed bounding boxes, projecting the extracted features of the proposed bounding boxes into the space, computing a similarity measure between the projected features of the proposed bounding boxes and the embedded, extracted features of the bounding boxes of the known object classes in the space, and predicting an object class label for proposed bounding boxes by determining a nearest embedded object class label to the projected features of the proposed bounding boxes in the space based on the similarity measures.
